Industrial: 1) Summer 1997: Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) x Simulated a model for the overhead of a distillation column using PRO II in order to find a scenario that leads to increase in the yield of expensive light components in an oil refinery. x Prepared a written memorandum to highlight the results of the simulation. x Monitored the performance of the Fluid Catalytic Cracking Units (FCCU) with the Technical Services Department (TSD) engineers. 2) Summer 1996: Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) x Joined the Technical Service engineers responsible for the shutdown of Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (LSFO) in which the catalyst was changed and the internals of the reactors were inspected. x Supervised the sub-contractors carrying out major project tasks. x Appreciated the team ethics in a large industrial institution throughout the duration of a critical shutdown. 3) Summer 1995: Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) x Simulated a model for the vacuum column, distillation column, and a stabilizer using Hysis. x Monitored the performance of a crude complex unit with the Technical Services Department (TSD) engineers.
4) 1993-1994: Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) x Carried out day-to-day troubleshooting as well as monitoring the performance of different unit operations in a 250,000 BPD modern refinery in the technical, operation and utilities departments. x Enhanced my ability to write technical reports and the application of sophisticated spreadsheets for numerical computations and the graphics for presentations. x Developed an excellent interpersonal communications with fellow cosmopolitan engineers, technicians and the operators. 4) Summer 1992: Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) x Carried out experiments on the properties of different petroleum products in the physical, chemical and analytical sections of a state-of-the-art laboratory. ¾ Awarded the British Petroleum Award for best 10 students (Fifth) for Stage 1. Furthermore, I won a prize for the best design team in Stage 1 (leader of the group).
