3 Travel Options Public transport Bristol has good transport links and if you book in advance there are some good deals. Check out www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk or http://redpl.net/eyd Your own car Often the cheapest and easiest way to get to your activity. The owner must ensure that the tax, MOT, insurance and servicing is up to date. Hire of a self-drive vehicle (minibus, car or van) Good for larger trips or when you need to move a lot of kit but there are lots of rules and regulations (and not many minibuses)! Hire of vehicle driven by a professional driver The most convenient but also the most expensive option. Domestic Air Travel Did you know that air travel currently makes up over 6% of the total CO2 emissions in the UK and is set to rise to a third of all emissions by 2050? Domestic flying is one of the most environmentally damaging ways to travel so it may be worth taking a look at these before you book your next flight. Bristol SU encourages students not to fly domestically when more sustainable transport alternatives exist. Please consider other, more environmentally friendly forms of transport.
