Prehistoric Village of Leceia The full excavation of the prehistoric village of Leceia over twenty consecutive years, between 1983 and 2002, is one of the most prolonged archaeological works carried out in Portugal. Between 1987 and 1993 held full restoration and upgrading of the excavated area, through a systematic program of consolidation and restoration of archaeological structures. The structures built there in the first half of the 3rd millennium BC made this archaeological site one of the most remarkable of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula. Every 3rd Sunday of the month you can visit at the Fábrica da Pólvora de Barcarena the monographic exhibition of the Prehistoric Village of Leceia where you can understand the developed work, the area and the discoveries made through the years.
