The following ATI 1000 MB SFP modules are supported on in the SFP uplink port on the AT-9000/24 Gigabit Ethernet Switch: AT-SPSX AT-SPLX10 AT-SPLX40 AT-SPZX80 Product Documentation For hardware installation instructions, refer to the following guide: AT-9000/24 Installation Guide For management instructions, refer to the following guide: AT-S84 Management Software User s Guide These documents are available on the documentation CD shipped with the product and on the Allied Telesis web site at www.alliedtelesis.com. Upgrade Procedure to AT-S84 V1.3.0 (1.0.0.90) The 1.1.1.70 image will not allow you to load the 1.1.1.90 image via TFTP. If your switch is running 1.1.1.50 you may use the normal upgrade procedure. Please refer to Downloading a New Management Software Image Using TFTP on page 190 of the AT-S84 Users Guide, Version 1.1.1. If your AT-9000/24 is running code version 1.1.1.70 (top of the first logged-on page of the console, or primary page of the web gui), you must use the boot loader to upgrade to 1.1.1.90. Follow the 8 step instructions below. The commands that you type are enclosed with dashes, eg: -type control c here-. PN 613-001148 Rev A 1
Before downloading a new version of the AT-S84 management software onto the switch, note the following: Your network must have a node with TFTP server software. You must store the new AT-S84 image file on the TFTP server. You should start the TFTP server software before you begin the download procedure. You should have a management terminal connected to the DB-9 Serial Management Port of AT-9000/24. To download the AT-S84 Version1.3.0 (1.0.0.90) image software onto the switch that currently is running Version1.2.0 (1.0.0.70), perform the procedure outlined in Appendix A of this SRN. What s New in Version 1.3.0 (1.0.0.90) Operational Notes Web browser interface: On oversubscribed networks or bandwidth-limited paths, the web browser interface may not always display the front panel graphic. However, you can still access all of the menus. LACP Loop. When two or more ports are part of an LACP trunk and RSTP is enabled, a loop is created. To avoid this situation, do not enable RSTP and an LACP trunk at the same time. Configuration Data Compatibility. The storage of the configuration data in Version 1.1.028 and up is not backwards compatible with the version of the firmware released prior to this release. When upgrading to Version 1.1.028 (or higher) from any firmware version prior to this release, the switch must be reset to factory defaults and then manually reconfigured. If this is not done, the switch may not behave in the same way as it did with the previous version of firmware. Resolved and Known Issues None PN 613-001148 Rev A 2 Allied Telesis, Inc.
New Software Features Management access can now be restricted to the default VLAN (VLAN 1). This feature is activated when you select ENABLE for the Management VLAN field on the VLAN Configuration web page. If this field is set to DISABLED, the management access is available on any VLAN.. See the Figure 1 for the location of this feature in the web interface. Figure 1. RELEASE HISTORY Version 1.2.0 (1.0.0.70) Resolved Issues Packets with Unknown VLAN Tag - When a stream of traffic with an unknown VLAN tag is sent to the switch at a rate exceeding 235 frames/sec, the switch management now continues to respond to ping requests Known Issues None. New Software Features Remote Management - Remote management access is now limited to VLAN 1. New Hardware Features None Version 1.1.1 (1.0.0.50) Resolved Issues The following issues were resolved in Version 1.1.1 (1.0.0.50): Web browser interface: When the web browser interface was accessed through a heavily used or bandwidth-limited LAN, not all of the main web page was loaded. This situation prevented management access through the web browser interface. This issue has been resolved. Ping response time: The ping response time was variable and excessive, even in an under subscribed LAN. This issue has been resolved. PN 613-001148 Rev A 4 Allied Telesis, Inc.
