Information Regarding CLE Credits and Certification Introduction to NYS Foreclosure Law: Understanding the Settlement Conference Process and Most Common Homeowner Defenses Wednesday, January 22, 2014 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM The New York State CLE Board Regulations require all accredited CLE providers to provide documentation that CLE course attendees are, in fact, present during the course. Please review the following NYCLA rules for MCLE credit allocation and certificate distribution. i. You must sign-in and note the time of arrival to receive your course materials and receive MCLE credit. The time will be verified by the Program Assistant. ii. iii. iv. You will receive your MCLE certificate as you exit the room at the end of the course. The certificates will bear your name and will be arranged in alphabetical order on the tables directly outside the auditorium. If you arrive after the course has begun, you must sign-in and note the time of your arrival. The time will be verified by the Program Assistant. If it has been determined that you will still receive educational value by attending a portion of the program, you will receive a pro-rated CLE certificate. Please note: We can only certify MCLE credit for the actual time you are in attendance. If you leave before the end of the course, you must sign-out and enter the time you are leaving. Faculty Biographies Adam Friedman is an integral part of the Pulvers, Pulvers & Thompson s Real Estate Division. He has extensive experience practicing real estate law. Since 2010, he has over 3000 foreclosure appearances, real estate closings, and real estate transactions. Mr. Adam Friedman has argued every type of foreclosure motion, has advanced knowledge of mortgage instruments, and has a unique understanding how banks look at difficult real estate situations. Adam Friedman s numerous appearances for real estate matters are tributes to his ability skillfully negotiate and successfully complete real estate transactions. Adam Friedman graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2005 and obtained his J.D. at the University of Miami soon after. He was admitted to practice in the State of New York and the State of New Jersey. Adam J. Friedman is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of New York. As an attorney, he is a member of multiple associates including Queens, Nassau, Bronx and New York Bar Associations. Sapna Gupta is a partner in the General Practice of PANTANO & GUPTA admitted to practice in New York. Ms. Gupta practices primarily in the areas of Bankruptcy, Debt Settlement, and Civil Litigation. She has been successful in receiving discharges of debt in each Bankruptcy case she has handled in both the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Additionally, in Debt Settlement cases, she has been able to reduce debt to an average of 60% owed by her clients and is able to reach favorable installment plans for each client. She speaks Hindi and French. Prior to forming the law firm of PANTANO & GUPTA, Ms. Gupta worked at a solo practice in Queens, New York. She completed a post-graduate fellowship at the Office of the Attorney General of the District of Columbia. While in law school, Ms. Gupta served as an extern for the Honorable Mary J. Boyle of the Eight District Court of Appeals of Ohio, and worked in the Civil Litigation Unit for Cleveland Law Department. She attended law school at Case Western Reserve University. Ms. Gupta participates in the Legal Aid Society of New York, pro bono Bankruptcy project assisting those who otherwise would not be able to afford quality legal representation. She has also participated in the Bread for the City Volunteer legal clinics. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York County Lawyer's Association and the South Asian Bar Association of New York. Ms. Gupta is the Vice President of Chapter 24 of the Business Networking International in Manhattan. Nicholas M. Moccia, Law Offices of Nicholas M. Mocccia P.C., provides legal services in the practice areas of landlord/tenant, foreclosure defense and civil litigation. He received a BA from University of Notre Dame, and MA from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a JD from New York Law School. He is admitted to the New York Bar, US District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a member of the Richmond County Bar Association, Brooklyn Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association and Richmond County Referral Source. Hon. Arthur M. Schack is a justice of the Kings County Supreme Court, Civil term. He received a BA from Brooklyn College, an MA from Indiana University and a JD from New York Law School. Before beginning his legal career, he was a high school teacher. He began his legal career working as Counsel to the Major League Baseball Players Association. He was then elected to the New York City Civil Court of Kings County, where he served until 2003. From 1999 to 2002, he was also appointed to serve on the New York City Criminal Court of Kings County. Schack was elected to the Supreme Court in 2004. Adam Roth joined Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro & Halperin, LLP 2011 as an associate. His career has been dedicated exclusively to the representation of those injured by the negligence of others. He has experience in all phases of litigation from case inception through trial, and has assisted in obtaining significant recoveries on behalf of the individuals who he represents. Adam graduated from Ithaca College in 2004, where he was a member of the varsity wrestling team, with a degree in Philosophy and a minor in legal studies. Thereafter, he attended New York Law School on a Dean s Scholarship. While at New York Law School, he earned Dean s List Honors for three consecutive years, was elected as

Attorney General of the Student Body, and wrote an article on free speech rights that was published by a student journal. Adam is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and the Brooklyn Bar Association and is admitted to practice law in the State of New York as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
