Lynne Abraham Faculty Since 1991, Lynne Abraham has served as Philadelphia District Attorney, the first woman ever to hold that position. Originally appointed by Philadelphia judges in May 1991, she won election in November 1991 to an unexpired term and was re-elected to four, four-year terms before announcing she would not seek re-election. Her 18-year tenure as district attorney is the longest in modern city history. As leader of the largest prosecutor s office in Pennsylvania and one of the largest in the nation, employing approximately 600 and handling more than 75,000 cases a year, Ms. Abraham forged a reputation as a tough and effective yet compassionate protector of public safety for more than 1.5 million citizens of the City and County of Philadelphia. Among her

3 myriad accomplishments, Ms. Abraham was one of the first district attorneys in the country to form a non-profit foundation operating in a district attorney s office when she founded Urban Genesis Inc. to promote community leadership and provide grants to fund projects to improve neighborhoods and help the needy. Before becoming District Attorney, Ms. Abraham served as executive director of the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority ( ); legislative consultant for Philadelphia City Council ( ); Philadelphia Municipal Court judge ( ); and Philadelphia Common Pleas judge ( ). Ms. Abraham is currently a Partner in Archer & Greiner's Philadelphia Office, focusing her practice on government relations, mediation, litigation and trial strategy and tactics, as well as appellate advocacy. Ms. Abraham continues to work in the private sector, promoting legislative initiatives aimed at preventing gun violence and curbing the activities of internet sexual predators. Judson Aaron Jud's legal career spans over 20 years both as a federal prosecutor and a trial lawyer. As an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from 1995 to 2005, Jud prosecuted a broad array of offenses involving violent crime, financial fraud, health care fraud, complex white-collar crimes, public corruption, and organized crime racketeering. Having spent a decade as a federal prosecutor, Jud is optimally positioned to defend individuals and businesses in government investigations and prosecutions. Jud is currently a Partner in the Philadelphia firm of Conrad O Brian where he chairs the Firm s White Collar Defense and Government Investigations Group. Jud has represented clients faced with allegations of fraud (mail, wire, securities, tax, and mortgage fraud), violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the Sherman Antitrust Act, offlabel marketing of pharmaceuticals, public corruption, and much more. His current clients include physicians, attorneys, accountants, business owners, executives of Fortune 500 companies, public officials, and major

4 corporations and non-profits who are the subject of, or just witnesses in, investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice, state Attorneys General, local District Attorneys, and federal agencies such as the SEC, HUD, and the Department of Defense.
