GIBB BMS BMS 2 Entry Exam 2004 Englisch (Time: 45 minutes) Name:.. First Name:.. Points:...Mark:... Part 1 Reading Comprehension (25 minutes) Please read the following text carefully, then do A + B Gatwick Express Catch the train to catch the plane One of the great advantages of flying from London Gatwick is the ease of getting there on the non-stop GATWICK EXPRESS service from Victoria Station in London. It's reliable, convenient, comfortable and very quick. The journey takes just 30 minutes. Victoria Station can now boast probably the best City to Airport rail facilities in the world. The new terminal offers an escalator direct to the train-side and also includes in-town check-in facilities, with certain key airlines. Easy access for taxis, private cars and coaches direct to the front of the GATWICK EXPRESS Terminal makes your departure trouble free. The fully air-conditioned carriages have plenty of extra luggage space. An 'at your seat' buffet service offers a full range of snacks and drinks. Gatwick Airport station is directly below the South Terminal. Lifts and escalators link the platforms with the main part of the airport so you can step off the train onto the plane. In fact GATWICK EXPRESS offers everything today's travellers need to make their journey complete. From Gatwick Airport GATWICK EXPRESS services leave the airport every 15 minutes during the day, and every 30 minutes early in the morning and late at night. Journey times are 35 minutes on Sundays. With this frequent service from early morning until late at night, seat reservations are not required. Return tickets last for one month, single tickets for three days. For those meeting friends a Day Return fare is available. Please enquire when making your holiday arrangements. Other rail services to Gatwick Passengers to the north-west of England and the Midlands can now enjoy high-speed services direct to and from Gatwick Airport, avoiding changing trains in London. If you are travelling to Gatwick from further afield and your rail journey is across London, you can now use your ticket to transfer by London Underground between your station terminal and Victoria at no extra cost. For details of these services please ask at your local station. Further information Details about the GATWICK EXPRESS are available on a recorded information service, telephone 0171 9282113. For enquiries about London Transport cross London Underground connections as well as services from central London to Heathrow Airport, telephone 0171 2221234 for a recorded information service. Services may be altered without notice. It is recommended that journey details are checked near the time of travel.
