HYBRID CLOUD AND APPLICATIONS How do you determine which applications to move to a cloud services provider and which ones to keep in-house? For many organizations, the security, governance and compliance aspects of data access are paramount. Application characteristics often have specific extensibility requirements for integration with the rest of the compute environment, making it difficult to move an application out of the data center. But economies of scale and competitive pressures whether to accelerate time-to-market, streamline collaboration or generate real-time results can make the flexibility of public cloud key. Ideally, determination of private vs. public cloud (including which public cloud) allows each application to run where it will be the most efficient and provide the optimal level of manageability, visibility, performance and cost for IT.
