Integrated Management Guide Seppeler Group As of:
0 the management system 0.1 Foreword of the company management The Seppeler Group is a successful, medium-sized, family-owned group of companies active in the sector of corrosion protection and metal processing. The 15 independent companies in the North of Germany and in Poland employ approximately 1,100 people in total. The altogether 12 galvanizing companies see themselves as modern providers of services, which fully concentrate on the needs and requirements of the customers. In addition to professional Seppeler galvanizing, we also offer our customers comprehensive complimentary services, including varnishing, installation or commissioning, which makes us a strong partner in corrosion protection. The service range of the Seppeler Group is completed by the powder coating facility in Arnsberg, container and plant construction offered by the business division Rietbergwerke, and the production of gratings in Gütersloh. The present integrated management guide proves that all processes that affect quality, environment, energy, and occupational safety are planned, directed, and supervised. Our employees determine our relationship with the customer and are the basis for the success of the group of companies. Only their qualified cooperation makes it possible to achieve an optimal result. The slogan "Seppeler we make it work" says it all: By living company principles such as - open and respectful interaction, - willingness to assume responsibility and to approach new tasks, - contribution of own ideas and opinions, and, last but not least, - identification with the company, every individual does their bit to ensure that the Seppeler Group remains a successful family business. 0.2 Company mission statement / company policy "Seppeler we make it work." this claim is the benchmark of all our activities, outwards and inwards. For our business partners and customers, this mission statement means that the Seppeler Group as manufacturing service provider with market- and future-oriented focus does not only concentrate on the core business of galvanizing, wet varnishing, powder coating, container construction, and grating technology, but also on expanding the related processes. In this respect, we are not content with meeting the requirements and expectations of our customers. Together with our employees, we work constantly to improve processes and technologies, to offer new added value by providing complimentary services, and to continuously improve ourselves. While "Seppeler we make it work." guarantees the customer optimal execution of his order, to our employees the mission statement is not only the guideline for their daily actions, but at the same time a promise of the company to offer secure working conditions and to guarantee personal development. The employees are the focus of commercial activities in all business divisions of the Seppeler Group. This includes responsibility of the company for all employees in the industrial and commercial sector. It covers the most diverse aspects, ranging from occupational safety and vocational and advanced training to the respectful assignment of tasks. The objective is a company culture that is characterised by reliability, safety, trust, and personal motivation. In addition to the responsibility for the employees and sound company growth, the mission statement also means that the Seppeler Group assumes its social obligations. Social and cultural engagement, sustainable production processes and products as well as continuity and reliability of decisions are characterising elements of the company's philosophy. Moreover, it is the clear objective of the company to treat economic, ecological, and social matters as a unit. The Dr. Klaus Seppeler Foundation contributes significantly to this. Its purpose is promoting company-related technical research and development as well as implementing the results in the manufacturing process. The foundation acts as a shareholder and thus has the purpose of guaranteeing the economic security of the group of companies through its activities. Therefore, quality standards for our products and services stand on a par with the safety of our employees and environmental protection. This mission statement is expressed by the present integrated management system, whose effectiveness we evaluate in audits on a regular basis. For the information of all employees, a summarised version of the mission statement has been put up in all business offices. Quality For the customer, quality as a mere agreement of demands and performances is natural. The Seppeler Group, however, takes the concept of quality even further. All products and services in the different business divisions as well as individual functional divisions are regularly examined on all levels and put to the test. We use a quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. 3
In order to deliver outstanding quality, qualified employees are just as necessary as optimised processes, beginning with core activities and reaching up to customer-oriented complimentary services and logistics operations. The product data acquisition (PDA) system of the Seppeler Group renders manufacturing transparent and provides information about the status of an order at any time. Quality objectives are established on a yearly basis and made available to the business divisions. The objectives provided can be measured and correspond to the quality policy of the company. Whether they have been achieved is reviewed by the company management every year as well. We already take energy efficiency and sustainability into consideration at the procurement stage. The use of energy and materials is analysed and optimised on a regular basis. The internal closing of material cycles, efficient systems for heat recovery, and waste prevention methods also contribute to this. Waste that cannot be prevented is, if technically possible, reused. Regular risk assessments in all working areas serve to recognise possible risks and to take appropriate protective measures.
