The Cofely Refrigeration performance portfolio Refrigeration products Quantum The main Cofely Refrigeration product is the Quantum, a turbo liquid chiller for applications ranging from 250 kw to 3 MW. The Quantum can lower energy costs by up to 50 percent thanks to its innovative technology. Parallel connected compressors increase reliability and guarantee continuous refrigeration availability. The series features an innovative compressor concept with an oil-free bearing. This feature guarantees especially low-sound and lowvibration operations and ensures that Quantum assemblies are predestined for soundsensitive applications. In 2003, Cofely Refrigeration received the Innovation Prize of German industry for the Quantum. The chillers of the Quantum series are available in water- and aircooled versions, and can be used in a variety of application fields: in industrial refrigeration technology, in office buildings and the pharmaceutical and chemical industry, in hospitals or for cooling data centres and food products. In 2011, Cofely Refrigeration also successfully introduced the Quantum IT, which is designed especially for the requirements of data centres. In 2013, the refrigeration specialist introduced an even more compact chiller the Quantum 3.0 with increased energetic efficiency. It features, among other things, an integrated Open Flash Economizer, state-of-the-art high-performance fin tubes in the heat exchangers, and a condenser module with micro-channel technology. In total, Cofely Refrigeration can look back on more than ten years of technical experience in refrigeration using oil-free compressor technology. Pensum The Pensum supplements the Cofely Refrigeration Quantum series for smaller performance ranges (45 480 kw) and offers a high degree of energy efficiency and reliability. Pensum chillers are easy to maintain and warrant continuous availability. Therefore they are particularly well suited for use in industry, technical building equipment and data centres. The Pensum chillers use the R410A cooling agent and are based on reliable and energy-efficient state-of-the-art scroll compressors. In addition, customers can select among various efficiency packages, which warrant increased energy efficiency, comprehensive reliability or both criteria. Operators benefit from a large number of options, including various pump options, hydraulic sets or a variety of connection options to building control technology. Marenum The Marenum offers a high degree of energy efficiency, resilience and seawater resistance, and is therefore especially suited for use in civilian vessels, the navy or patrol boats. Nonrusting steels and high-performance fin-tube heat exchangers made of CuNiFe (coppernickel-iron) ensure a much longer lifetime for the chillers as compared to other materials. The Marenum offers a high degree of refrigeration performance in a small space and can be ideally aligned to individual requirements due to its modular structure. At the same time, its design also withstands the most demanding requirements such as extreme shocks, and features low sound and vibration emissions and electromagnetic compatibility. Hence the chiller corresponds with the NATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG). Spectrum The Spectrum is an energy-efficient, water-cooled chiller that can be used in particularly low or high temperatures thanks to the speed-controlled screw compressor technology and integrated Open Flash Economizer. The lowest evaporating temperatures of the Spectrum are in the range of -25 degrees Celsius. For heat pump and heat recovery operations, the Spectrum reaches condensation temperatures of up to 65 degrees Celsius, and is therefore particularly suited for heat use in industry and the production of hot water in e.g. hospitals or
swimming pools, and in technical building equipment. Due to its low evaporation temperatures, the Spectrum can also be used to charge heat or cold storage units and thus compensate for fluctuations in electricity supplies. Amonum Due to its compact design, the Amonum offers high power density and is also very environmentally friendly due to the use of natural coolant ammonia. This water-cooled chiller with speed-controlled reciprocating compressor is available in four performance ranges between approx. 50 and 200 Kilowatt. It offers an innovative evaporation system and a SIMATIC S7 control unit for the energy-optimised control of the entire periphery. The application range of the Amonum covers solar applications to -15 degrees Celsius, as well as process cooling and air-conditioning to +15 degrees Celsius. Heat recovery is made possible with a condensation temperature of up to 50 degrees Celsius. Cofely Refrigeration supplies the Amonum in factory-ready condition. It is very easy to connect and is immediately ready for operation. In addition, it is also very easy to maintain. Operators benefit from high efficiency values in full and partial load operations, and hence lower operating costs. Recooling Systems Since 1957 Cofely Refrigeration s product portfolio has included recooling systems. Today the company offers the whole bandwidth of cooling tower engineering. The appropriate cooling tower is selected on the basis of the criteria refrigeration capacity, energy requirements and sound levels. In order to meet the specific customer requirements, Cofely Refrigeration provides a variety of designs: evaporation cooling towers with open and closed circuits, cell cooling towers, rental cooling towers and dual recooling systems. All cooling towers are corrosion-free plastic or stainless steel cooling towers with a long service life. In contrast to cooling towers with closed circuits the water that needs to be cooled for cooling towers with open circuits is in contact with the cooling air. Dual recooling systems use the evaporation heat of the sprayed water in summer. In winter they discharge heat into the ambient air via the temperature difference. Exclusively dry options are also possible during colder periods. The surface of the heat exchanger is only wetted at high ambient air temperatures. Cofely Refrigeration not only assumes responsibility for the detailed planning in 3D CAD, simulations of recooling systems and profitability calculations, but also for the installation and implementation of the entire recooling or cooling/cold water system. Cooling and cold water systems Cofely Refrigeration develops special cooling and cold water systems and is responsible for the entire production process from the initial planning phase to design, production and installation and the entire commissioning process. In this context, specialists work on site to develop tailored and efficient solutions including feasibility calculations based on individual customer requirements. Key components such as the Quantum chillers, cooling towers, industrial sand filters, glass fibre reinforced plastic storage tanks, compact refrigeration modules and control units are produced by Cofely Refrigeration, and warrant the seamless operation of the cooling/cold water system. In addition, the components of the system save a lot of energy and resources, with minimal maintenance requirements. Container facilities Container facilities from Cofely Refrigeration combine high-quality and energy-efficient refrigeration and recooling technology with a space-saving design along with simple connection and installation options. The container facilities are full cooling and cold water facilities with complete internal piping and wiring, a central control unit and all components that are required for reliable operations. The only items that must be added are the supply and electrical lines.
Services Classic refrigeration services In addition to refrigeration systems and products, the Cofely Refrigeration portfolio also includes a range of classic services: from inspection, maintenance and repair to the delivery of spare parts, Cofely Refrigeration advises and assists companies with all refrigeration systems, cooling towers and liquid chillers. Using remote facility monitoring, Cofely Refrigeration ensures safe system operations on behalf of the customer. The refrigeration specialist also rents out cooling towers and water chillers to companies with additional cooling requirements as a result of repairs, maintenance or emergencies. Modular maintenance The modular maintenance model from Cofely Refrigeration ensures reliable, energy-efficient and efficient operations over the chiller's entire life cycle. Depending on the degree of use, lifetime and the current condition of the chiller, this maintenance concept consists of 26 maintenance modules, each of which is available in four different versions. Facility operators can thus optimally align the modular partner packages to their requirements and reduce operating costs in the long term. Modernisation services The refrigeration specialist offers a variety of modernisation services to increase the efficiency of conventional drive systems. In this context, Cofely Refrigeration focuses on the energy efficiency and optimisation of existing systems, always taking into account environmental aspects and regulatory requirements. The Lindau-based company can convert machines for use with sustainable coolants and also retrofits equipment with retention systems in line with legislation; in addition to converting cooling towers to continuous speed control, the company also offers Quantum retrofit upgrades, whereby an old condenser is replaced with the oil-free magnet bearing Quantum compressor, while the existing chiller is mostly left as is. Modernisation services also include the automated cleaning of heat exchangers using the Cofely Power Flow system that ensures effective temperature exchange along with low operating and energy costs, and updating the control technology from S5 to S7. In addition, Cofely Refrigeration offers an Efficiency Check, which consists of the structured and systematic inspection and assessment of existing chillers of other manufacturers according to the criteria energy efficiency, needs-conforming performance, operating and operator safety and legal compliance. Training dka die kälte akademie (www.cofely-refrigeration.de), based in Lindau, is the training academy of Cofely Refrigeration. dka aims to provide competent support to training participants to improve competitiveness and for managing the demanding technical requirements of their chillers on the basis of effective and high-quality courses.
