ELECTRICITY BILL AUDIT IS YOUR ELECTRICITY BILL CORRECT? Contact us at 613-302-7301 Email at sduthie@retirementresort.ca www.yourelectricbill.ca

Your Electricity Bill The first true step. Every prudent property manager, business owner, or developer are always conscious of their expenses and have in place proper control and procedures to monitor and manage these expenses. The electricity cost is always a big concern and many looking at signing contracts to fix their electricity prices or performing energy reviews of their operations evidences this. However, what about looking at this issue from an even basic standpoint. Why not ask the question, Are we paying the lowest price for our electricity? We work with the assumption that we are and that our electricity bill reflects the correct charges and that all necessary credits are being applied to our account. We then make decisions based on those assumptions and initiate, in some cases expensive energy audits or sign contracts to fix electricity prices, which in some cases may not be the right decision. A simple process of auditing the electricity bill will give you the answer to the question Are we paying the lowest price for our electricity? What is an Electricity Bill Audit? The Electricity Bill Audit is a review of your Electricity Bills in order to make sure that you are paying the lowest price based on current regulations. The Electricity Bill Audit is very different from an energy review and assessment, which assess the operations to reduce energy spending through increased efficiencies. The first true step is an Electricity Bill Audit. We have no relations to energy brokers. Our task is simple and relates only to the review of your electricity bill and does not represent or promote any energy brokers. We look after the basic and we will review your electricity bill and advise you what your charges are and what your credits should be. If there is mistake or you have been incorrectly charged we will work with your electricity provider and obtain the necessary refund, or ensure that for the future your bills are accurate moving forward.

Residential Customer Majority of electricity customers in Ontario are residential customers, and residential customers are not just family homes but include condominiums, apartment buildings, nursing homes and retirement homes. Residential customers may qualify for the Rate Protection Plan (RPP). For multiple unit residential buildings (Condo and apartment building) where hydro is included in the rent or lease, take advantage of the free Electricity Bill Audit being offered. There is a much higher chance that you are paying too much and may have money coming back to you from your electricity supplier. Commercial, Industrial and Farm Customer. It is very important for commercial and industrial customers to pay attention to their electricity bills. Many pay close attention to expenses such as their property tax bill and have procedures set up to challenge such expenses. The same focus should be addressed to your electricity bill, and you may be surprised with the savings from conducting a mere Electricity Bill Audit. Bottom line, we are here to make sure you are paying the lowest possible price for your electricity so please contact us for more information. For some residential customers living in Condo units billed by sub- metering companies, watch for your cumulative daily demand. We can help you understand this.

OUR SERVICES The Electricity Bill Audit should be an integral task for every business and should form part of your annual review of your expenses. The cost to perform such an audit is at no cost at all and you are only charged a fee if an error is found and a refund is made by the electricity supplier. We have no allegiance or connections with any suppliers of energy or with any third party. As a result of our audit you will receive all benefits directly from your supplier. Ongoing Monthly Support - Regulations in the Electricity world are constantly changing and in some cases it may be important to participate in our monthly program whereby we will audit your monthly electricity bill, ensure that the appropriate charges and credits are being applied and that the correct regulations are applied. This support is a great tool to manage and control your monthly electricity expenses and provides a peace of mind for a very small fee. One- time Electricity Bill Audit - This service is free unless we find a billing error and we only charge you a portion of money recovered by form of refund or credit (includes the credit difference between what was charged and the recalculated charge). Any future savings from the billing error may not be included in the portion we charge.

AN EXAMPLE: Take the example below of an electricity bill. This bill looks goods and would not alert a customer to any errors. However, after an audit of this bill alone the customer would save $357.05 for this month. The experience of one Retirement Home Operator. I never considered looking at auditing the Electricity Bill, since I believed that all charges were correctly being applied; however I took the opportunity to have my Electricity Bill audited by retaining the services of The Electric Bill Analyzed for You. We were successful in claiming back overpayments due to inaccurate billing, but most importantly moving forward each month our bill is correct and lower. Our experience was positive. The level of expertise and professionalism exhibited by the individuals at The Electric Bill Analyzed for You can only be commended. I strongly encourage my counterparts to be pro- active and have your bill audited. Written by Sabby Duthie, owner of The Wedgewood Retirement Resort.

OUR FEE STRUCTURE Effective January 1 st, 2014 our pricing structure is based on the following: Once the Electricity Supplier has calculated a refund on the past invoices then a 55% fee will be based on the total refund applied. Please note the following: 1. There is the possibility that upon an audit of the Electricity Bill that OEB may determine an error on the past bill but will not apply the refund but will implement the savings for the future. We will not apply a charge for the review of the utility bill. 2. There may be no errors on your bill and will result in no credit or refund. In this case then no fee is payable. 3. Free ongoing bill verification will be provided for all clients for a period of one month. For those looking to participate in our monthly support program then please contact us for more information. There truly is nothing to lose by contacting us. We have the ability to review your bills going back two years and in some cases as far back as January 1, 2011. We strongly encourage you that time is of the essence and it is important to implement this Electricity Bill Audit and ensure that moving forward you are paying the right price. Are you paying the lowest price for your electricity? Lets find out. Contact Sabby Duthie at 613-302- 7301 for more information. www.yourelectricbill.ca
