To Whom It May Concern: Whether you are a new customer or you have relocated within London, we require that all customers complete and return the enclosed Application for Service with two pieces of photocopied identification (one must be photo identification) preferably a Driver's Licence and Social Insurance Number as well as your date of birth. Per section 'Billing Responsibility' in London Hydro's Conditions of Service, "a signed application must be received with the appropriate documentation (i.e. Personal Identification) within five days of the service request or the service will not be provided and/or will be subject to disconnection." Services are provided based on London Hydro's 'Conditions of Service' document, which is available on our website at Rate Options: Residential Customers will be billed in accordance with the Regulated Price Plan (RPP) established by the Ontario Energy Board; or you may choose to purchase electricity through a retailer offering contract rates* (see note below); or if you have an interval meter, you can pay for electricity based on actual wholesale market prices. *If you had an electricity contract with a Retailer at your previous address and it follows you to London, you may be billed a RPP Settlement transaction. The RPP Settlement can be reversed if you advise us within three months of the move in date, that you had an existing retailer contract prior to moving. We have enclosed the current rate schedule. The "Account Set-Up Charge" covers the administrative fees associated with moving and will appear on the first invoice after each move. Please see the enclosed insert for all your billing and payment options. To ensure accurate billing, if the water meters are inside, and not accessible to our water meter readers, we suggest that you submit regular water readings including the first and/or last reading, by phone or online. If you are a tenant, the owner's name and address will be used to provide notice in the event that your service is disconnected. The owner may also be notified of your final billing date. 3 Pre-Authorized Payment Authorization How does the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan work? On the invoice due date, the net amount is automatically deducted from your bank account. Your invoice will show you how much will be deducted. I/We authorize London Hydro Inc. and the financial institution designated to begin deductions for payment of charges for the London Hydro Billing Number indicated on this form. Regular payments for the full amount of services delivered will be debited to my/our specified account on or after the due date. This authority is to remain in effect until London Hydro Inc. has received written notification from me/us of its change or termination. This notification must be received at least ten (10) business days before the next debit is scheduled at the address provided below. I/We may obtain a sample cancellation form, or more information on my/our right to cancel a Pre-Authorized Debit Agreement ( PAD ) at my/our financial institution or by visiting I/We have certain recourse rights if any debit does not comply with this agreement. For example, I/we have the right to receive reimbursement for any PAD that is not authorized or is not consistent with this PAD Agreement. 4 London Hydro s Budget Billing Form Dear Customer: Thank you for inquiring about our Budget Billing Plan. We are pleased to offer this service to our customers and appreciate your interest and participation. Under the Budget Billing program, London Hydro will balance your monthly electricity costs over the course of a year, so you will pay about the same amount each month. To keep your bill as accurate as possible, we will review your Budget Billing Plan every six months and, if necessary, adjust your monthly payment up or down to match the amount of electricity used. On the anniversary date of your plan, we will true-up or settle your bill to the actual amount of electricity consumed in your home. This means you will receive a bill with either a debit or credit balance, which clears your account before the next annual budget period begins. For more than 100 years London Hydro has been providing safe, reliable electricity to Londoners and our commitment remains the same today. Rates For your convenience we have enclosed a copy of the current rate schedule for easy reference. Additional information on rates and an appliance usage chart is available on our web site to help determine the cost of operating a specific appliance. Security Deposit As a new customer you may be required to pay a security deposit fee until such time as you establish a good payment history with London Hydro. A credit reference from another utility may be accepted in place of a security deposit. Please consult our customer services department or visit us at to determine whether you qualify for an exemption. Account Services Our automated voice services make it easy to access your account information including your account balance 24 hours per day. Simply call and follow the instructions. MyAccount On-Line Access - view your bills and Time-of-Use energy consumption online at by simply signing up under the MyAccount screen. Registering for London Hydro s online service will allow you to access your London Hydro account details 24/7, with the ability to view your energy consumption, billing transactions, archived bills and history for both electric and water services as well as provide us with meter reads if our meter readers were unable to access your water meter. Sign up for the PAPERLESS BILL delivery option and you ll receive an advising you when each monthly invoice is available for viewing. Payment Methods To make your experience with London Hydro as pleasant and seamless as possible we offer a number of payment options for your consideration. London Hydro accounts are billed monthly and payable upon the due date to avoid interest payments. You may pay your bill by return mail by enclosing a cheque in the enclosed envelope or you may wish to choose from these other convenient options. Preauthorized payments - your London Hydro bill payment will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account on or about the due date each month. There s no extra cost and you don t have to worry about postage. Simply complete the on-line form, print it out, and send it to us along with a Void cheque and we ll take care of the rest. Automated Banking Machine (ATM) - London Hydro is linked to all major banks and financial institutions, so you can make your payments whenever you want... quickly and conveniently. Telephone or on-line banking - Pay from the comfort of your home - using the internet and telephone banking services of your financial institution. Both are easy to set up - just ask your bank or financial institution for details. Make sure they have your 7 or 8 digit London Hydro billing number to ensure your payments are received and posted to your account on time. Bank branch or financial institution - make your bill payment in person while you do your banking. Be sure to remember that banks often require additional processing time when handling bill payments. London Hydro deposit box - Drop off your payment in our safe deposit box located at the entrance of our building at 111 Horton St. Budget Billing - Under our budget billing service, London Hydro will balance your monthly electricity costs over the course of one year, so you pay about the same amount each month, and there s no additional cost for this service. We review the balance every six months and if necessary adjust your monthly payment up or down to match the amount of electricity used.
