WHO WE ARE Ohio Northern University is an independent, comprehensive University that distinctively combines nationally ranked sciences, arts and professional programs in its five colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, Pharmacy and Law. Established in 1871 and affiliated with the United Methodist Church since 1899, Ohio Northern has an enrollment of more than 3,600 students, representing 38 states and 27 countries, and offers more than 70 programs of study. The beautiful, 342-acre residential campus is made up of more than 60 modern residences and academic buildings and provides a vibrant campus experience with nearly 200 student clubs and organizations. The Polar Bears compete successfully at the NCAA Division III level in 23 varsity sports as part of the highly respected Ohio Athletic Conference. Graduates leave prepared with an education that delivers one of the highest returns on investment in the state. Placement rates for graduates six months after graduation have averaged more than 93 percent for each of the past seven years, a rate higher than the national average. Arts and Culture Whether students see world-class entertainment at the Freed Center, attend art exhibits at the Elzay Gallery of Art or cheer along with the marching band, Ohio Northern University is a cultural epicenter for theatre, art and design, music, and dance. Athletics ONU competes in the NCAA Division III Ohio Athletic Conference. There are 23 varsity sports (12 for men and 11 for women) and nearly as many club and intramural sports. Our school colors are orange and black, and our mascot is Klondike the Polar Bear. Student Life Students choose from a variety of campus activities, including 200 student organizations; four national sororities and five national fraternities; intercollegiate, intramural and club sports; music; and theatrical events. ONU Sustainability Initiatives As an Arbor Day Foundation Tree Campus USA, ONU is firmly committed to sustainability and environmental awareness on campus. Our on-campus housing derives 30 percent of its heating and cooling from geothermal technology, and three 400-kilowatt wind turbines provide between five and 10 percent of our electricity needs. The Inn at Ohio Northern University Ada s world-class hotel offers more than 70 deluxe guest rooms, luxurious amenities and more than 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting spaces.

SPORTS, CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS (NOT ALL INCLUSIVE) 23 varsity sports (12 for men and 11 for women). Students from across all disciplines participate in the arts at Ohio Northern they sing, dance, act, play a musical instrument, work behind the scenes, attend a gallery opening and broadcast the news. Students participate in professional organizations available in their academic interests, multicultural groups, intramural and club sports, cheerleading, and the dance team. There is an active religious life on campus, including organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Northern Christian Fellowship, Gospel Ensemble, Chapel Band and Choir, and Newman Club.
