ICT40115 - CERTIFICATE IV IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (RELEASE 1) Description This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a wide range of general information and communications technology (ICT) technologies and to support small to medium enterprises (SMEs) that require broader rather than more specialised ICT support. Persons working at this level apply a wide range of knowledge and skills in basic networking, ICT support, database development, programming and web development support; working safely and ethically in a sustainable work environment. Employability Skills Employability skills are an important part of competency. Units of competency have been developed to ensure relevant employability skills have been embedded within competency components. This approach more accurately describes employability skills within the context of work outcomes. The training and assessment strategy includes the application of employability skills through implementing learning and assessment strategies that meet students needs and reflect industry requirements. The application of employability skills communication, teamwork, problem solving, initiative and enterprise, planning and organising, self-management, learning and technology are holistically assessed in the evidence gathering techniques against the relevant industry approaches and employability skills framework.
