Dresselhaus, stands for long-time tradition and innovation. Supreme quality demands, qualified personnel and continuous investments in the future make sure that Dresselhaus ranks among the most successful distributors of screws and fastening elements in Europe. Dresselhaus has made considerable investments to develop and expand the QA department. This is one of the reasons why more and more well-known companies are deciding in favour of Dresselhaus. The following pages are intended to provide you with an insight into the Dresselhaus QA. 3
4 Measuring room 1
Micro-Vickers hardness tester Determination of surface hardness To determine surface hardness, carbonisation or decarbonisation and course of hardening, we use the Micro-Vickers hardness tester. Surface roughness measuring instrument Determination of surface roughness The determination of surface roughness is executed by using the surface roughness measuring instrument according to DIN EN ISO 3274. 5
6 Measuring room 1
Profile projector Measuring of length, radius and angle This measuring device provides an exact determination of length, radius and angle. It allows a measuring accuracy of 0.001 (one thousandth). Hardness testing machine Core hardness test According to several DIN standards the hardness of fixings and engineered items is inspected, e.g. the core hardness test of bolts. 7
8 Measuring room 1
Optical microscope To evaluate the microstructure and to determine carbonisation as well as partial decarbonisation, polished specimens are examined under the optical microscope. Axial run-out measuring device According to either DIN EN ISO 4759 or drawing parameters, run-out tolerance deviations are determined. Concentricity gauge According to either DIN EN ISO 4759 or drawing parameters, straightness, deflection and concentricity are measured. 9
10 Measuring room 1
Measuring and inspection equipment Micrometer gauge Measuring pins/gauge block Thread inspection Inside micrometer Besides the testing equipment listed above, further conventional measuring devices, such as vernier calipers and indicating thread gauges, are available in the field of length testing technology. 11
12 Measuring room 1
Microscopical inspection Stereo microscope for the metallographic inspection of fasteners and components. 3D stereo microscope with advanced depth of field to illustrate fractured surfaces, cracks etc. 13
14 Measuring room 2
Universal testing machine Tensile- and pressure tests Using this universal testing machine, tension- and traction tests on bolts and turned-out samples with proof loads of up to 600 kn, and proof load tests on nuts can be executed. 15
16 Measuring room 2
Optical emission spectrometer This device is used to determine the chemical composition of metallic materials. Universal testing machine up to 2.5 kn Using this universal testing machine, tensile tests with proof loads of up to 2.5 kn can be performed on bolts. 17
18 Measuring room 2
Screw testing stand Using this inspection device, the screw-in characteristics of screwed connections are identified in accordance with VDI 2230 by optional determination of the following parameters: pre-tensioning, tightening torque, angle of rotation and friction coefficient. X-ray fluorescence spectrometer To determine the layer thickness of metallic, electrolytically and non-electrolytically applied zinc- and zinc flake coatings we use the X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. O-ring gauge To determine the diameter of o-rings. 19

Digital photometer Chrome-VI determination in metallic surfaces By using this method the proportion of chrome-vi in metallic surfaces can be illustrated. To achieve a fast result, a spot test can be employed. 23
24 Measuring room 3
Salt spray test Neutral salt spray test for corrosion resistance of metallic surfaces The salt spray test is employed to determine corrosion resistance. This examination is carried out according to DIN EN ISO 9227. 25
26 Work room
Screw-in test bench Here the screw-in times of different types of fasteners are determined. Torque wrench Following VDI 2230, for example breaking torque and bolting-up torque can be determined. 27
28
Coordinate-reading-microscope CNC controlled video coordinate-reading-microscope with 8x magnification and a measuring range of 200x100x100 mm. Allows fully-automated measuring of standard components as well as special parts including a subsequent analysis facility. Measurement precision is 0.003 mm. 29
30
3D coordinate gauge Workpieces can be checked accurately and economically with the 3D coordinate measuring machine. In addition to the common coordinates for length, width, and diameter, e.g. tolerances for form and position (according to DIN ISO 1101), such as axial and radial run-out deviation, parallelism, straightness, angularity, perpendicularity, symmetry, etc. can be determined and evaluated. The metering precision is 0.003 mm. A special software makes sure that the measuring results can be displayed graphically. 31

PLM - Product Lifecycle Management Through the application of a PLM software a structured data management is guaranteed. A significant advantage is the optimization of tracing documents and a simultaneous data interchange with them. A documented filing system as well as a modification history is a substantial quality feature of the PLM system. Data filing and exchange of drawings is carried out either in 2D or in 3D formats. We manage all documents like drawings, initial sample reports, approvals ect. in this database our customers are granted access to. Introducing the trend-setting PLM system indicates one more time that Dresselhaus provides a permanent investment in a good and fruitful cooperation with you. 37
