2014 MEMBER SURVEY RESULTS Over 93% of members surveyed rated your Credit Union Excellent for service Your Credit Union exists for the benefit of its members. To ensure we stay focussed on that goal, every 2 years an external organisation surveys a random cross section of the membership. It is very pleasing to report that since the 2012 Member Survey, your Credit Union has been successful in maintaining its overall performance rating at a very high 87% ( excellent ), with this strong performance rating being reflected equally across industrial and community memberships. Even more significantly your Credit Union has been able to increase its overall service rating by 3% to 93%, an extremely high service rating achieved in a survey of this type. This result reflects the continuing hard work and dedication of the staff but could not be achieved without the invaluable support of our loyal members, (80% of members have been with the Credit Union for over 10 years). In common with the national demographic, your Credit Union has however an aging membership with over 60% of the current membership age 55 or over. A strong focus of the Credit Union must be to attract younger members if it is to continue to provide a relevant customer owned banking alternative for future generations. MEMBERTESTIMONIAL RAY HOWARD - Member since 1970 Ray has been a loyal member of the Credit Union since April 1970 and believes one of the best things to ever happen was the formation of the Credit Union. Ray joined the waterfront in 1954 and some of our members may know him by his nickname half a day Ray as he was well known for getting his work completed quickly. In his many years on the waterfront Ray also worked alongside Tas Bull who was our Credit Union Chairperson from 1984 to 1992. Retiring over 24 years ago, Ray still feels that our Credit Union looks after him today. SPONSORSHIP EVENTS Reliance Credit Union Rally Team Reliance Credit Union has been sponsoring the Reliance Credit Union Rally team for 3 seasons. The Reliance Credit Union Rally Team is a family affair with Ron Moore the driver, his wife Jo the navigator and father Doug providing support. Ron, Jo and Doug have been members of Reliance Credit Union since way back. Ron sells 4wd accessories and Jo works from home as a Family Day Care Educator. They have 3 kids Sarah 16, Michael 14 and Lachlan 12. Ron started rallying in 1991 in a Datsun 1600 (as more than 95% of Aussie Rally Drivers did), but only competed occasionally during each season due to lack of funds. For a few years Ron stopped rallying while the kids were younger then got back into it in 2011 in another V8 VY Commodore. Since then they have been having great fun and producing reasonable speed coming close to winning a few rallies over the past few years. This year Ron had the opportunity to step out of the Commodore, which is a crowd pleaser but also a handful and not the greatest car for gravel rallying, into a purpose built Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI. Good results are relative to the level of competition at each event on the day but it s all about the people and camaraderie plus the adrenalin rush and nature of the sport. MEMBER NOTICEBOARD How to minimise/avoid fees and charges Below are some tips to help make managing your fees a whole lot easier. Use your VISA Debit card and press the credit or CR button. This is processed as a FREE VISA transaction and does not count towards your transaction total. When you make an EFTPOS transaction, withdraw cash at the same time. This counts as only one transaction. Make fewer, but larger cash withdrawals. Use our SmartBanking App, internet, phone or mobile banking. Use Bpay to pay bills, save on fees and avoid the queues. Use ATMs wisely and sparingly. Make sure you have sufficient funds to cover withdrawals. Over the counter withdrawals at branches are free (except for business members). Updating your address or other contact details If you have recently changed address or any other contact details, please call us or log on to your internet banking to make the change online. Use our Direct Charge FEE FREE ATMs Access to over 8,400 rediatm, Cashcard ATM or NAB ATMs Australia wide where you will not pay the Direct Charge Fee to withdraw your money! PIN to replace signature From 1 August 2014 you will be required to use a PIN for all in store transactions above $100. For transactions less than $100 you still have the option of using PayWave where available. This change is part of an Australian industry initiative to replace signature with PIN. The move to PIN is an added security measure which is expected to help minimise fraud in the event of a lost or stolen card, making it harder for fraudsters to gain access to your accounts. Do you know your PIN? Have you forgotten or misplaced you pin? To have a new PIN reissued or reset please visit your nearest branch and use our PIN change machine to change your PIN to a combination that suits you. If you aren t able to visit a branch before 1 August 2014, please contact us.
