The professors are enthusiastic about their subjects and about student success in and out of the classroom. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the MLA program at AUM. - Samantha McNeilly, MLA Program Graduate, 2009 The interdisciplinary program doesn t limit participants to a cookie cutter curriculum, laid out with only one career path and one type of student in mind. Instead, it fosters personal and professional growth by allowing students to chart their own path pursuing a degree based on their own academic interests and professional needs. From my first graduate class to my thesis defense, my experiences with the MLA program have all been wonderful! The program has provided me with the opportunity to achieve lifetime goals that I had previously considered unattainable. The coursework was challenging but always stimulating, and the professors within the program were both inspiring and encouraging. - Angela Fuhrman, MLA graduate, 2003, taught English at Embry Riddle University in Pisa, Italy

Flexibility The MLA program attracts students from a broad number of professions and backgrounds. Students may be accepted into the program even if their undergraduate work was not in liberal arts. No additional undergraduate classes are required before MLA coursework begins. From recent college graduates to working professionals juggling work and family, the MLA program has the flexibility needed to help students reach their educational goals. The program may be pursued part-time or full-time, and many courses are taught in the evening or online. Indeed, depending on student interests, the degree may be completed entirely online. In addition, students may begin the program in any semester. Career Options Our graduates have found jobs in high school and college teaching, publishing, marketing, advertising, library science, and other careers. Some have gone on to Ph.D. programs or law school.
