Master of Science in Cybersystems and Information Security Master of Science in Homeland Security and Emergency Management Master of Science in Justice and Public Safety Master of Science in Justice and Public Safety with a concentration in Legal Studies Master of Science in Justice and Public Safety with an concentration in Criminal Justice Master of Science in Psychology Master of Public Administration Master of Political Science Master of International Relations Ph.D. in Public Administration and Public Policy (offered jointly with Auburn University s Department of Political Science)

3 Completion of most graduate degree programs in the School of Sciences requires a comprehensive examination. Some programs also offer a thesis option or practicum in place of this requirement. Programs generally require completion of at least 30 credit hours before the comprehensive examination or thesis and a total of 36 credit hours. At AUM, you will work closely with the advisor in your department to ensure that you have a plan to meet all degree requirements. Candidates for graduate degrees are required to maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) on all graduate work taken. Flexibility and Convenience Graduate programs in the School of Sciences are designed to meet the diverse needs of today s students. Whether you are a working professional looking to return to school, or deciding what's next after your undergraduate degree, you can choose to take classes full-time or part-time. Some programs can be completed entirely online. Most of our master s programs can be completed within 24 months, and some accelerated programs can be completed within one year. Career Options Graduates from our programs can enter careers as government officials, paralegals, legal assistants, journalists, health care administrators, security officers, military officials, college instructors, law enforcement officers, and nonprofit and public organization administrators to name only a few. Upon successfully completing 18 graduate credit hours in your field, you will be qualified to teach your specialty at most Alabama colleges and universities. 4 Admission All applicants must hold a bachelor s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university. To apply, please submit: A formal application, completed online at including a $25 application fee An official transcript from all previously attended colleges, sent directly from the registrar of each school to the AUM Office of Graduate Studies Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) test scores (check with your department for preferred tests and other admissions requirements) The AUM School of Sciences has not established a minimum entrance exam score or undergraduate GPA requirement. A departmental screening committee composed of members of the graduate faculty will review each application. This committee will consider your qualifications, including your previous academic record and admission test score. Several programs do require a minimum undergraduate GPA and other elements such as letters of recommendation.
