Naples, October 14-16 2015 Basilica San Giovanni Maggiore Rampe San Giovanni Maggiore 2015 International Annual Conference A Sustainable Development in the Mediterranean Area Under the high Patronage of in collaboration with
Electrical Energy is absolutely key in the sustainable development of Mediterranean Countries. Moreover, in the future the integration of Electrical Systems of the Mediterranean Area will be crucial in a legal and regulatory framework that will deliver secure, sustainable and affordable energy for years to come. Never before the world of energy has been facing radical changes so deeply, so quickly. Real challenges, imposed by technological changes that are underway in the geopolitical, economic and social. From the perspective of technology and market changes concern the role of fossil fuels (not only for the new opportunities offered by the gas sector), the increasing penetration of no programmable renewable sources (in particular sun and wind), the innovation in transport systems and electrical industry, the need to reduce pollution and environmental impacts, the new climatic requirements and more. It is a real revolution, and the Mediterranean is the center, in a moment of obvious economic and social turmoil that arose at the same time concerns and hopes; the Mediterranean Area is characterized by a population distributed unevenly and in Countries with different development levels, it is growing and will not always have access to services and the energy to satisfy the expectations and needs. This prospective represents a strategic need of the Mediterranean Area and therefore deserves the greatest attention. To realize these hopes there is only one way: to collaborate together to build common solutions that ensure greater security and greater development. With this perspective, to discuss how it can all fit together, AEIT is organising an international conference: A Sustainable Development in the Mediterranean Area, to be held on 14 th - 16 th October 2015 in Naples. Round tables, speeches and memories will take advantage of the contributions of relevant Institutions, Enterprises and Professional Associations and will be parted into the following thematic areas: The Mediterranean The Euro-Mediterranean Supergrid Mega Cities e Smart Cities The Research in the Euro-Mediterranean Perspectives. During the conference we are going to discuss how a cohesive vision might combine the best possible future electricity market and networks integrations - determining investment decisions - with today s national capacity mechanisms to reduce the huge investment uncertainties which market actors face today. A vision connected with smart grids paradigms, demand response, the right rules and lots of good data to integrate renewable energy into the market.
