CGU Entrance Requirements TOEFL or IELTS scores are required of all applicants whose native language is not English and who do not hold an undergraduate or advanced degree from an institution, in the U.S. or abroad, where English is the language of instruction. Scores must be sent to CGU directly by the testing agency. Scores older than two years are not accepted. A minimum TOEFL score of 85 ibt is required, with required section minimums of no less than: Writing 22, Speaking 17, Reading 20, Listening 17 A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 is necessary for admission. Admitted students who score at or below 100 ibt on the TOEFL, or below 7.5 on the IELTS, will be required to enroll in the in the Foundations in Graduate Writing and Presenting (FGWP) course or the Graduate Writing Course (GWC).
