INTRODUCTION This is a guide to using the Your HR Help Desk. In order to help you best, putting your information into a form that is clear can assist us in finding out the best answer for your issue. EXPECTATIONS You have a personnel issue. A situation has occurred with one or more of your people. You are not sure exactly what the best course of action could be. We are here to help you sort through the questions and provide some ideas, thoughts and guidance as to what you should do. We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice. You will have to seek out your own attorney to provide that kind of advice and counsel. Having said that, we have faced many similar situations usually and can tell what others have done. These suggestions could provide you a potential approach that you could take to address your concerns. Sometimes just having a confirmation of what you are thinking can be useful. We try to give you practical information so you can make better decisions about your people.
Step # 1 Getting started. 1. At the bottom of the home page of www.talentvalue.com 2. Click on this link to begin 3. Or, there is another place on the web site where you can access the Your HR Help Desk. That is under the TalentValue HR Tool Kit. Human Resource Help Desk 1. The Header says Ask our HR Experts 2. There is a box where you can put in what ever your issue or problem or question is. 3. After you fill in that box, hit Submit. 4. It will take you to the Contact Us form. We ask you to fill in the required fields so we know who you are.
Step # 2 Providing the right information 1. Put your information into a format that will help us to help you. 2. In one or two sentences describe what has happened. Note: If you ask the wrong question, you will get the wrong answer. 1. Be specific. What are the facts? 2. When did this incident occur? 3. Who said what to whom? 4. What was the reaction or consequence of this action? 5. Has this ever happened before? 6. Have you talked to anyone else about this yet? 7. Why are you concerned? 8. Where ever the terms are found within this glossary, they will come up below the search box. 5. Thus type performance and the term performance will come up as many as 10 times in various places.
