UC Objectives in JIE Inc 1 # Increment 1 Objectives Description What Europe needs to do to prepare 1 ECVoIP - Enterprise Classified VoIP (ECVoIP) initial service offerings are being piloted today. - Additional installation and configuration of ECVoIP infrastructure is inprogress in Europe. Order via DDOE (submitted 30 phones) Open required firewall ports and protocols (currently awaiting INOSC East action) Post pilot - Transition secure voice users (and any new) from agency VoSIP to ECVoIP Decommision VoSIP infrastructure (as able) 2 TDM to LSC conversion - DISA s Soft Switch (SS) IP backbone is in place today -- DoD agencies can migrate their VoIP systems connecting directly to the IP backbone, becoming stand alone Local Session Controllers. Work w/ DISA Europe to establish SIP trunks to the SS (Joint Effort, sched for Mar 14) Migrate TDM services to IP telephony hardware (LSCs) Decommission TDM infrastructure (as able) 3 Voice ISP implementation - Voice over Internet Service Provider (VISP) capability is in place today. - This greatly reduces the requirement for locally leased PRI trunks and establishes low rate per minute toll charges. Establish SIP trunk between VoIP system and SS (Joint Effort - See TDM to LSC). Complete DISA VISP questionnaire Place order via DDOE Reduce PRI leased trunks (as able) 4 EVoIP installation - Enterprise VoIP (EVoIP) initial offering is projected for piloting Q4FY14. - This establishes a single standardized source for DoD Voice Services and opens the door to a host of upcoming DoD Unified Capability services. As services become available, work w/ DISA Europe to transition pilot users from LSCs to ESCs (Joint Effort) 5 IP Video Teleconferencing (IP VTC) extension - All services of DVS-G being replaced by the DISN Global Video Services (GVS) provides large scale conferencing capabilities while leveraging existing management structures, processes and procedures. As services become available, work w/ DISA Europe to transition users off legacy DVS-G ISDN to GVS IP VTC 7

Current State of UC Services UC services are offered at both the enterprise and local enclave level, though in general are not unified or integrated Some enclaves have implemented VoIP, most still use TDM telephony Supporting services, such as EDS, are being implemented but few services are fully utilizing their capabilities DISA-offered DCO and DVS-G are on tracking for evolution to next generation service/capabilities offerings E-VoIP migration is underway with ESCs being deployed by DISA and Army in CONUS and in Europe, building out the infrastructure for the IP voice network to replace TDM Mobility services are recently available and are being built out to support increased usage and additional UC mobile apps 9

UC Portfolio Take-Aways No one size fits all UC solution goal is interoperability Efficient, mission oriented migration from legacy to future technologies Services, Agencies, COCOMS at different readiness levels for consumption of UC capabilities and service offerings UC is more than Telephony Modernization Integrated solutions for full spectrum of communications capabilities is user 5/15/2014 12:11 PM expectation Must eventually include interfaced/integrated solutions for all of DoD (SBU/S/TS/TS+), Coalition, Mission Partner (IC and beyond), Whole of Government communities Existing Governance Framework (standards definition, APL, Certification) can evolve to support other capabilities ISO JIE objectives Expansion of UC constructs necessary to achieve full benefits of converged IP environment & effectively deliver capabilities to the Enterprise 11
