About NNSC NNSC 2014 is National Network Security Championship with workshop series jointly being organized by Association for Computing Machinery, IIT Delhi and Network Bulls, Gurgaon. This championship aims to reach the students across the country and to spread insights of Real Industrial Networking concepts and to make them aware with technologies that are holding the Network of the world, let it be Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Stock Exchange, Airtel, Vodafone, British Telecom etc. NNSC Championship will be held in January 2014 at IIT Delhi.

The technical session was started immediately after the inauguration ceremony by Mr. Kashish. The first lecture was about the OSI model. How to divide a network into multiple sub-networks with same range using Subnetting 2. How to save an IP address range with VLSM? 3. Needs and uses of dividing a network into multiple networks 4. Summarization - How to create a summary of similar IP address blocks? Public & Private IPS 1. What is the need for buying IP addresses? 2. Where do we buy the IP addresses from? 3. What is the current cost of an IP address? IPv6 Addressing 1. Hexadecimal Conversion Routing 2. Router Modes 3. Router IOS 4. Static and Dynamic Routing Protocols 5. Best path selection for Routing 6. Working of these protocols 7. Shortcomings of the protocols Application Layer Protocols and their uses. Protocols include: DHCP, DNS, SMTP & POP3. How to use Telnet, Ping, SSH and how do these work in an organization. Switching 1. How switch forms its MAC table? 2. A switches form a MAC table still we call it a broadcast device. Why? 3. What is a VLAN and how to configure it? 4. What is VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) and how is it used? Optional : Access Lists (ACL) 1. How to implement security features or restrictions on devices using ACL The workshop was attended by 43 participants including students as well as faculty members from different colleges like AISSMS, IOIT, Pune, Dr.D.Y.Patil Akurdi, MIT Academy of Engg, Alandi, G.H.RJET,Wagholi, Dr. D Y Patil SOE, Lohegaon & Dr. D Y Patil SOET, Lohegaon Every session was helpful to the participant. Students enjoyed the feast of knowledge & the refreshment provided in between the sessions. The program was concluded by a certificate distribution ceremony. Mr. Omprakash Tembhurne anchored the Certificate Distribution ceremony. All the participants were awarded by participation certificates, the winner Mr. Akshay Singh [MIT ACADEMY OF ENGG, ALANDI] of the competition was awarded by the appreciation certificate.
The certificate distribution ceremony was concluded with Vote of Thanks speech by Ms. Arti Mohanpurkar [HoD, Computer Engg Dept.]. The workshop was helpful for students & was a great success.
