1.0 Overview This document provides detailed procedures for applying WITS 3 prices. Each WITS 3 product and service price table is described in detail to allow WITS 3 customers to define the costs of services accurately and easily. These instructions will be updated and provided throughout the life of the contract to reflect contract modifications that add or expand products and services. For current year WITS 3 pricing for s and Products/CPE, see the GSA WITS 3 Web site (https://publicpricer.wits3.gsa.gov/). For any questions concerning the pricing tables please contact the WITS 3 Verizon Customer Center (VCSC) 1-800-381-3444 or your Verizon Account Representative. 1.1 Organization For the WITS 3 contract the National Capital Region is partitioned into different geographic groupings for pricing purposes. There are 6 geographic groups currently in use. The group number (rate zone) is represented by two middle characters of the, ranging from 01 to 06 dependent upon the geographic location. For example, FRS-V02-0101, FRS represents the, 02 represents the group number/applicable location, and 0101 represents the chronological order of the items. V is the designation for Verizon. A group number of -V00- indicates that the price is not geographically restricted, but rather applies across the board to all geographic locations. 1.2 The WITS 3 pricing tables include Element pricing for respective product and service offerings. These prices are designated by the appropriate 1
action code in the tables. Table 1.2-1 provides the action codes for each element. Rate zones 01 through 04 cover the National Capitol Region (NCR) in LATA 236 and make up over 90% of all Government users. The methodology for determining the appropriate Rate Zone (or ) for your NPA-NXX is detailed in the s section of this document. Rate zones 05 and 06 are special circumstance zones for disaster recovery or special circumstances. 1.4-1: Rate Zone Table Rate Zone Table RATE ZONE Abbr. FRS is delivered on a fully meshed backbone with redundant paths, offering resiliency and eliminating a single point of failure. The service supports a variety of applications, including e-mail, LAN-to-LAN connectivity, remote database access, document and resource sharing, image transfer, order 29

In cases where the user s CPE does not provide frame relay compliant frames, the WITS 3 team will consult with the user and recommend interfacing equipment based on the application being supported. Customer Management (CSM) is a valueadded optional feature that provides Customers with web-based reports. These reports give the Customer the ability to extract read-only network traffic information regarding their networks thereby allowing Customers to monitor and manage their network performance. CSM is both billed and built per Customer Division. A Customer Division is a group of access connections and Permanent Virtual Circuits (PVCs) designated by the Customer. A Customer Division may include no more than 500 access connections and 1,000 PVCs. 2.2.5 Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Verizon s ATM standard features include nationwide availability, multiple interface rates ranging from 1.5 Mbps (T1) to 622 Mbps (OC-12), and multiple service classes including constant, unspecified, variable (both real 34
time and non real time) bit rates and permanent virtual circuits (PVCs) and switched virtual connection (SVCs). Verizon does not provide any usage restrictions for ATM services within the WITS 3 serving area. PVCs and SVCs may be bi-directional pointpoint or unidirectional point-multipoint. Bi-directional Virtual Connections (VC) may be either symmetric or asymmetric. This is true of all UNIs in the Verizon network, regardless of port speed and conforms to af-uni-0010.002, the UNI 3.1 specification. Verizon will support additional Constant Bit Rate (CBR) and Variable Bit Rate (VBR) bandwidths in multiples of 5Mbps. 2.2.6 Dark Fiber (DFS) To ensure the delivery of high quality, secure, and reliable WITS 3 Dark Fiber s (DFS), Verizon has agreed to team with several leading Dark Fiber providers in the NCR. Verizon will accept routes that originate from the directly connected peer and will only pass networks upstream that have been previously agreed upon by the WITS 3 client and Verizon. This policy ensures that spoofing and other undesirable activities are kept to a minimum. IAS NNTP News Feed (IAS- V00-0104) Unrestricted NNTP news feed to any WITS 3 customer news server subscribing to the USENET service. Verizon will download news group article updates to the WITS 3 customer s news server on a scheduled basis. WITS 3 customers will be able to choose whether to access Verizon s news server or to have the news feeds downloaded by Verizon to the customer s news server. IAS Dialup Backup via (IAS- V00-0105) Dial up back-up circuit via 56 kb/s transmission to provide redundancy for customers most important internet applications. IAS Dialup Backup via ISDN BRI (IAS-V00-0106) Dial up back-up circuit via 64 kb/s ISDN BRI transmission to provide redundancy for customers most important internet applications. IAS Dialup Backup via ISDN BRI (IAS-V00-0107) Dial up back-up circuit via 128 kb/s ISDN BRI transmission to provide redundancy for customers most important internet applications. IAS Intranet Control Facilities (IAS- V00-0017) Network access authentication and secure connectivity services from a remote access connection to a WITS 3 customer s intranet network through a dedicated access connection to ensure that only authorized users are allowed on the customer s intranet. Verizon will use its Internet Protocol Routing (IPRS) network to provide the Intranet Control Facilities requested by any WITS 3 customer. IPRS provides analog POTS and digital ISDN BRI dial-up connectivity and access to Verizon s network and the Internet. IAS Assurance (IAS-V00-0018) Verizon will guarantee a 99.7 percent availability of service as measured over a monthly period, trouble identification in less than 14 minutes, and restoral of IAS in less than 2 hours for WITS 3 customers 41

(LANs) across selected metropolitan areas. GES is provisioned over fiber connections between the customer s premises and the customer s serving CO. Customers gain access to the shared GES network through GES equipment deployed in the CO. The shared network utilizes FDDI, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), Gigabit Ethernet or a combination of services to transport customer data across a metropolitan area. GES delivers interfaces of 10Mbps, 100Mbps or 1000Mbps (GigE) from customer LANs to the shared network.
