Personal Summary After six years working in the graphic industry at recognised New Zealand agencies I set up my own practice in mid-2009, trading as Hannah Design where I work as a contractor and freelancer whilst maintaining a my own client base which has been built up over the past few years including both corporates and more recently focusing on the fashion industry. From August 2010 to November 2011 I worked on a full-time contract at one of New Zealand s boutique fashion houses - moochi as creative brand manager. This role included all graphic design, from website to weekly email newsletters (including copy writing) plus all in store creative styling to in store events organisation and brand sponsorship. It was from this role I cemented my love of working within the fashion industry. My formal training was gained at Massey Design School (now Massey University) in Wellington, where I completed a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Visual Communication Design with Honours. In later years I returned to Massey to teach Marketing Communication and Design at a second year level. moochi creative brand manager moochi.co.nz August 2010 November 2011 After nine months contracting to New Zealand womens boutique moochi on a project-by-project basis, I was approached to take on an in house full-time role as creative brand manager. The role included looking after all the graphic design and art direction plus marketing of the brand for their six stores nationwide and online store. As Creative Brand Manager at moochi I Graphic Design + Designed quarterly magazine Edition including creating all content, from copywriting to recipes to at home photoshoots. + Created all in store artwork, including large format posters, signage, decals. + Designed new logos and swing tickets, back tags and markerting collateral for new ranges within store. + Created artwork for t-shirt placement prints and fabric prints including repeats. + Liaised directly with all print suppliers, building relationships. + Organise artwork files ready for offset and digital printing. + Understand the printing process and colour pass all jobs that go on the press. + Undertook document and file set up. + Worked to tight deadlines. Art Direction / Styling + Worked with design team on seasonal theming based on trends to help tell a story to the customer. + Co-ordinated all photoshoots booking models, photographers, hair + makeup artists. + Art directed photoshoots, including choosing selects on the day. + Designed and made all in store creative for each range release. + Organised photography for online store all done in house both on model and mannequins. Interactive + Designed weekly email newsletters for a database of 20,000, including conceptualisation with sales team, photography, copywriting and building in icontact email software. + Designed new website and maintained change outs of content through CMS on a weekly basis + Sourced information from in house team and wrote blogs on a weekly basis. + Worked with film makers to create short films for viral usage of each collection, including location scouting, talent and music selection. + Created Facebook + Twitter accounts for moochi and uploaded and maintained content. Brand / Marketing + Planned and worked towards a yearly marketing calendar for in store events and promotions. + Sourced and secured brand appropriate sponsors for events and gift with purchase for in store events. + Maintained relationships with sponsors throughout the year with regular planning meetings. + Ran two major events within each store twice a year dress week, which launches a collection of ten limited edition dresses, with 10,000 women through the door on one day throughout six stores, which includes a gift with purchase valued at over $250 and sips and sweets served throughout the day. + Co-ordinated involvement in fashion shows. hannah design Designer + director June 2009 current After three years working as an Intermediate Designer at Typeface in Wellington I decided to take the opportunity to begin my own business, trading as Hannah Design this has given me the opportunity to build on my previous experience and offer clients a total package, from initial meeting to concepts through to the finished product. As Designer and Director at Hannah Design I + Design printed collateral for small boutique clients as well as large recognisable New Zealand clients, which includes brochures, posters, books, invitations and calendars. + Work closely with clients to create new company branding and strategies. Revive Espresso + Refinement of logo with the introduction of their new blend Fair Trade Organic. This was then implemented throughout the collateral including cups and packaging. Twenty-Seven Names + Rebrand, new logo, swing tags, back labels. + Working along side the designers and photographers costeffective marketing collateral based on the collection theme is created twice a year for their collections and for their annual appearance at NZ Fashion Week. Typeface Limited, WELLINGTON Intermediate Designer typeface.co.nz February 2006 June 2009 Having worked 18 months as an Interface Designer I decided to return to my true passion of print design. Initially Typeface were looking for a senior designer, however after reviewing my portfolio they were confident that I had the combination of conceptual and design knowledge that would continue to grow under the guidance of a tight design team. As Intermediate Designer at Typeface I + Design printed collateral for small boutique clients and large governmental agencies including brochures, reports, posters, books, manuals and annual reports. + Worked closely with clients to create new company branding and strategies. Provoke Solutions, WELLINGTON Interface Designer provoke.co.nz January 2004 February 2006 In late 2003 I was approached by Provoke Solutions as a result of them viewing my work in Massey University s final year exhibition. Provoke felt that my talents would assist them in achieving their vision in designing the most usable and visually stunning software in the marketplace. My role as Interface Designer at Provoke included Website design + Designed interfaces for internal and external web applications the scope of the design included brand communication ( look & feel ) and screen information design. + Followed a user centred design approach; ensuring the product had a user-friendly interface as well as being aesthetically pleasing. + Worked alongside design/marketing studios to ensure the designs created adhered to the brand guidelines already established for the client.
