DURO FELGUERA GROUP INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE

NÚCLEO, a Group Duro Felguera Company Engineering and manufacturing company more than 45 years in the market NÚCLEO DE COMUNICACIONES Y CONTROL (NÚCLEO) NÚCLEO DE COMUNICACIONES Y CONTROL, S.L.U. (NÚCLEO) is a technological Spanish Company belonging to Duro Felguera Group. NÚCLEO provides engineering solutions and systems integration in the following fields: Civil Communications (Aeronautical and Maritime), Security and Defence and Energy, Industrial and Environmental Control. The solutions, products and services NUCLEO provides cover the complete life cycle of each project through its different phases: feasibility study, detailed design and planning, project preparation, manufacture and execution, verification, commissioning and testing, assessment and training, maintenance and logistic support and alter-sales services. Innovation: Developmet of products and technologies. Strong investment in R&D+i Providing technical solutions that generate added value in turn key projects Strategical Alliances Developing innovative own products Fully internationalized Committed to customer satisfaction

NÚCLEO, a Group Duro Felguera Company 48 YEARS DELIVERING CNS/ATM SOLUTIONS NUCLEO history starts in 1965 NÚCLEO started operating back in 1965 in the aviation industry. In 1974, our electro-mechanical pre-vccs was built for the Air Traffic Control activity and 1978 saw the birth of our first generation solid-state VCCS. Recently, in our 45th anniversary serving the aviation market, we issued our fifth generation: a EuroCAE compliant IP-native VCCS for the ATM sector. OPERACIONES % Inc 2010 /s Aeropuertos Total 2009 MADRID-BARAJAS 433.706-0,3% BARCELONA 277.832-0,4% MALAGA 105.634 2,0% GRAN CANARIA 103.093 1,5% VALENCIA 77.806-4,1% SAN SEBASTIAN 9.581-1,7% VALLADOLID 8.974-2,8% MELILLA 8.935-3,4% CORDOBA 7.095-18,0% VITORIA 6.742-29,0% LEON 4.773 0,0% EL HIERRO 4.142-4,6% LOGROÑO 3.638-27,6% BURGOS 3.560-0,3% LA GOMERA 1.776-7,4% ALBACETE 1.243-12,4% NUCLEO offers the same platform for small and large centres NÚCLEO is the only VCCS manufacturer that has been offering one single platform for small and large ATC centres. As an example, Madrid-Barajas airport has a unique redundant VCCS for 39 ATC controllers deployed in 3 different sites and 3 hierarchical levels. Burgos has one of the lowest traffic air-port in Spain and has a VCCS with two position. Both systems share the same hardware. So does 80% of AENA airports allowing a costeffective spare management.

IMPORTANT PLAYER IN THE SPANISH CNS/ATM DOMAIN NUCLEO was the first Company to supply a VCCS System in Spain It started covering needs of communica-tions for Operations Management Centres, which require accessing to a great variety of radio and telephony resources trough an operator console. It uses NÚCLEO s gateway to interface legacy radios, Tetra, Hot line, R2, N5, enabling them to be operated through an IP connectivity. NÚCLEO, a Group Duro Felguera Company NUCLEO will be the first Company to install a dual IP/PCM VCCS at Vitoria Airport The System consists of two independent VCCS: one is EURO- CAE-compliant IP and one is from traditional PCM technology. Unlike a main-contingency configuration, the ATC control position is unique for both systems. NUCLEO is the largest TWR turn-key integrator in Spain NUCLEO is aware that ATC centres are not only VCCS. ATC projects require an important level of knowledge and integration. That s why we are a turn-key projects company. We do integrate VCCS, radios, weather equipment, timing, power, and all the necessary equipment. We have also inhouse mechanical design and civil engineering capability..

AERONAUTICAL SOLUTIONS HIGHEST VCCS SYSTEM MARKET SHARE IN SPAIN 80% of the Spanish airports have a VCCS that has been manufactured, installed and commissioned by NÚCLEO. According to AENA s statistics, 1.699.142 aircrafts operations (80,2% of the traffic) and 626.141.278 passengers (96% of the total) where guided to their destination through our VCCS. IMPORTANT PRESENCE IN ASECNA AND OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES AND LATIN AMERICA Since 2000, NÚCLEO is contributing to the African recent aviation market growth by modernising ASECNA countries ATC Centres. Important contracts have also been achieved in Mali and Namibia. Since 1999 delivered VCCS systmes for most of COCESNA ATC Towers

VCCS CD40 AERONAUTICAL IP SOLUTIONS Voice and data convergence in multimedia IP networks is increasingly widespread. In response to this trend, NÚCLEO has developed the CD-40, a Voice and Data Communication Management and Control System (VCCS) over IP. This is the 5th generation of this type of products developed by our company, which has been in the market for over 40 years. The CD-40 has been designed following the specifications laid down by the EUROCAE Working Group 67 (WG-67) in which the requirements for the use of VoIP technology in air traffic management (ATM) have been defined. It is based on VoIP technology with SIP signalling, which allows it to interoperate with market-available resources following this standard and to establish peer-to-peer connections for data channels over IP networks The compatibility of this new product, the CD-40, with current analogue and digital communication resources is possible thanks to a proprietary design gateway.

VCCS CD40 AERONAUTICAL IP SOLUTIONS TECHNICAL FEATURES Voice and data integration over IP networks Based on VoIP technology SIP signalling Transport of audio packets using RTP/RTCP Integration of SIP telephone and radio resources Fault-tolerant, single or dual configuration architecture Components with double Ethernet access Use of COTS elements Gateways for data, digital and analogue audio links Effortless scalability High availability (>99.99%), high reliability and simple Maintenance (hot-swappable units) High voice quality (low noise and distortion) MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Accessible over the Web Resource configuration from Management console Local and remote dynamic reconfiguration Supervision features Production of statistics Operation and maintenance history Remote network and gateway control and monitoring by means of SNMP ALL NUCLEO IP SOLUTIONS ARE EUROCAE COMPLIANT AND ARE DESIGNED TO GUARANTEE THE COEXISTENCE OF IP AND LEGACY EQUIPMENT FOR A SMOOTH TRANSITION TO THE SESAR 2020 VISION

MULTIPROTOCOL TEST EQUIPMENT AERONAUTICAL SOLUTIONS Multiprotocol Test Equipment (ETM), a product specified by AENA that monitors and analyses communication protocols, lines and voice communication systems (VCCS) used for Air Traffic Control Centers. The system, developed by NÚCLEO, is based on a portable PC and can measure frequency response attenuation, gain levels, propagation delay, signal distortion, noise levels, echo characterization, PTT and SQ delays, speech quality. This equipment supports several protocols like Eurocontrol standards ATS-R2, ATS-N5, AENA LCEN and in-band signalling, FXS/FXO/BL, EUROCAE VoIP. ETM analyzes the quality parameters of a voice communication line and compares it to Eurocontrol and Eurocae Standarts granting huge savings in trouble-shooting and maintenance activities allowing and making it easier validation of Eurocae IP Standards compliance
