AnyQueue Multi-Platform Output Management

Your business-critical documents are generated by a diverse range of applications on multiple operating systems. Each application takes responsibility for print distribution. That leads to duplication of effort, such as multiple printer definitions on multiple systems for the same device. Print management functions native to each operating system are usually very limited and differ widely between platforms. The result is a lack of consistent document management and control, unnecessary complexity, inferior error recovery and poor utilization of resources including hardware, software and people skills. That can ultimately lead to poor quality of service to your customers, high operating costs for your organization, and difficulty in implementing change. The AnyQueue solution can help lower the cost of printing and increase the efficiency of your users and network print administrators. AnyQueue Solution Hundreds of organizations have found AnyQueue software effective for output management in the multi-platform, distributed environment. The AnyQueue solution offers the unique capability to manage documents produced on multiple platforms and deliver them to multiple network destinations. An AnyQueue server can help lower the cost of printing and increase the efficiency of your users and network print administrators. We ve modeled the AnyQueue solution on our z/os-based Enterprise Output Server, a design that thousands of organizations depend on for managing business-critical output every day. The AnyQueue solution enables you to manage application output from UNIX, Windows, Linux, AS/400 or z/os systems.

The AnyQueue solution gives you the capability to manage documents produced by all kinds of applications. Send output from any source to one or more destinations in your enterprise, whether that destination is an output device, file server, email server, or online archive. Regardless of the platform where the document originates, the AnyQueue solution offers significant functionality. Multi-platform Support AnyQueue operates on multiple platforms, including Sun Solaris, HP, AIX, Linux and Windows, so you can choose the one that is best for your organization. In addition, software components are provided that enable output generated from other platforms to be packaged, compressed, and delivered to AnyQueue for output distribution and management. Secured Transmission Data security is an increasingly important issue within many organizations. The vulnerability of confidential data traveling across the network is often overlooked by network personnel. For this reason, some organizations are choosing to encrypt confidential reports, such as payroll, so that anyone intercepting data on the way to the printer is unable to read or use it. The AnyQueue solution can encrypt print jobs and send the result to other computer platforms or to printers equipped with decryption hardware. The AnyQueue solution can also decrypt output sent from encryption software on another computer platform. The result is true end-to-end security for print jobs from source to destination. Assured Delivery When end users don t get their printed reports within seconds of selecting the print command, they get frustrated and call help desk staff to locate the missing reports. This is a waste of time for users and help desk staff. The AnyQueue solution offers assured delivery by communicating directly with your printers to know when the last page of a print job has reached the output tray. Once that happens, AnyQueue can notify users via its Web browser interface or by sending an email notification that the report is ready. To ensure printer availability, AnyQueue software supports pooling routes. When one pooled printer goes down, this technique enables new output to be delivered to an alternate pooled printer. If a printer goes into error status, the AnyQueue server will retain the affected output so users can manage it. A medical center, outsourcing much of its information processing work, paid its ASP to print and ship paper copies of reports until implementing the AnyQueue solution. Now the medical center receives the reports electronically for printing on a departmental printer or viewing. End users have immediate access to critical information and the medical center saves thousands of dollars each month by eliminating overnight shipping and printing charges from the ASP.

The AnyQueue Job List presents all output with meaningful names and other information. A hospital, using incompatible applications on various platforms, had no method for transferring lab results and transcribed medical records into its imaging system archive. After implementing the AnyQueue solution, the hospital can automatically route reports from the source applications to the imaging system without operator intervention. By helping the hospital reduce the staff cost involved in moving documents, the AnyQueue solution paid for itself in its first three months. Intelligent Document Delivery No matter where your reports originate, your users want relevant information delivered to network printers near them. The AnyQueue solution processes reports based on their content for intelligent document delivery automatically. Use the AnyQueue solution to divide reports into smaller sections for individual users and create multiple copies of a single report for broadcasting to a distribution list. capture

To aid security, the AnyQueue Web interface displays only the jobs an individual is allowed to see. The AnyQueue solution enables users to browse a document and print a range of pages if needed. Browser Interface The AnyQueue/ WebTRAC browser-based interface enables users to view and print reports when and where they need them, no matter when the reports were processed. Report Viewing and Management AnyQueue users can retain reports for reprinting, preview them prior to printing, or view them and not print at all. AnyQueue software also supports Microsoft Windows Active Directory user authentication and single sign-on using the browser interface. The AnyQueue solution stores confidential reports until the end user logs in and either views them or routes them to the appropriate network printer. The intuitive user interface organizes print jobs into folders so users can find them easily, and allows users to attach brief printed copies, further reducing the cost of paper, manage deliver notes to each document. The viewing options provided by the AnyQueue solution make reports available nearly as soon as they are processed. Flexible viewing options, including Web browsers, email, and PC-based viewing, make reports viewable nearly everywhere within the enterprise. Users can view reports electronically instead of reading paper copies to reduce the demand for toner, other printing supplies, and the labor involved in manual distribution of paper reports.

Capture and Deliver Output to Any Destination The AnyQueue solution offers a distributed print management environment that you can depend on to deliver business-critical documents to any network destination throughout the enterprise, whether the destination is an output device or another platform. Because AnyQueue software can capture output from any platform, it enables you to secure, manage, and deliver documents generated by applications on mainframe systems, Windows servers, Linux, AS/400 or UNIX hosts. Bridging these various platforms in your enterprise is key to reducing print and support costs. Another key is the ability to deliver output to all possible destinations. The AnyQueue solution allows you to hold output locally and deliver it to network files and directories, to AnyQueue software on other systems, to email servers, to LPD printers, and directly to TCP/IP printers, and it can even convert data to PDF. AnyQueue software s flexibility in capturing and delivering output can solve your print distribution problems, lower your printing costs, and increase the efficiency of your users and administrators.

Enterprise Output Server LRS offers the software solutions which integrate seamlessly to provide a complete Enterprise Output Server a single, highly scalable, reliable server which can handle a large volume of documents. With LRS solutions, you have the flexibility to implement the server components you need, including document capture, archive, delivery, and a consistent user interface regardless of the user s platform. Design your Enterprise Output Server to capture documents from all the platforms you use and deliver them to all the destinations on your network, including printers, fax servers, email addresses, and Web browsers. The AnyQueue solution provides the functionality of a complete output server for the distributed environment. Organizations receive documents from multiple platforms, deliver documents to multiple network destinations, and enable their users to monitor document status and manage documents using a simple Web browser interface.
