Macquarie FutureWise at a glance Key features: flexibility at claim time Partial Impairment benefit Trauma Reinstatement partial payments under Trauma Insurance greater flexibility with FutureWise Trauma Insurance. Flexibility at claim time Extended activities of daily living (extended ADLs) are included in FutureWise Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) as an alternate tier within the Own Occupation, Any Occupation* and Domestic Duties* definitions of TPD. This means that the defined approach for TPD provides flexibility at claim time to be assessed under either the traditional TPD definition or extended ADLs, which provide an objective measure for assessing impairment and, in some cases, will mean that occupational assessment may not be required. Extended ADLs are included at no extra cost under TPD Plus and TPD Platinum policies (excluding Modified TPD). The full TPD benefit will be paid if your client cannot perform four of the six specified extended ADL categories. Extended ADLs Extended ADLs provide an objective, medically-based alternative for assessing TPD. This means that the defined approach for assessing TPD includes an objective measure for assessing impairment as an alternative to the traditional TPD definition and, in some cases, will mean that occupational assessment may not be required. An inability to perform four extended ADLs categories is included in all TPD insurance policies at no extra cost. TPD Platinum also includes the Partial Impairment benefit which provides partial payments if your client suffers functional impairment of a specified number of extended ADLs. The impairment levels and payment amounts are: Trauma Reinstatement This option allows your clients to reinstate all or part of the Trauma sum insured without the need for medical underwriting, 12 months after it was reduced in full by a claim, subject to the terms set out in the PDS. Under reinstated Trauma Platinum cover, your client is also eligible to claim a partial benefit for heart attack and cancer (of a different cell type), even if that was the cause of the original claim. Partial payments under Trauma Insurance While our Trauma Insurance provides 100 per cent cover for a range of conditions, we also pay 20 per cent of the sum insured as partial payments for a number of specified conditions, including carcinoma in situ of the breast which doesn t require adjuvant therapy, early stage melanoma and early stage prostate cancer, subject to the terms set out in the PDS. Greater flexibility with FutureWise Trauma Insurance Our three levels of Trauma Insurance - Trauma Standard, Trauma Plus and Trauma Platinum - allow you to tailor your clients cover to meet their specific needs. Trauma Standard provides cover that protects against all of the standard conditions you would expect in a Trauma policy, including partial benefits for some early stage conditions. Trauma Plus provides more comprehensive cover with additional conditions and extra partial benefits, as well as boosted payments for some severe conditions. Trauma Platinum builds on Trauma Plus and includes additional cover such as minor heart attack, occupationally acquired hepatitis B or C and diagnosis of a benign brain tumour. Further, if the Trauma Reinstatement option is selected with Trauma Platinum, benefits may be payable for a second heart attack or cancer claim after cover has been reinstated. Impairment level Functional impairment of at least 4 extended ADLs Functional impairment of at least 3 extended ADLs Functional impairment of at least 2 extended ADLs % of the sum insured payable Availability 100% Built-in benefit 65% TPD Platinum only 40% We will automatically pass on any future improvements we make to Macquarie Life FutureWise when they do not result in an increase in premium. Flexible total disability definitions Disability Income Insurance provides a choice of disability definitions. The duties based definition is included in all Disability Income Insurance policies, with the option to add Disability Income Plus for some occupations. Disability Income Plus may allow the insured person to work up to 10 hours per week or continue to earn up to 20 per cent of pre-disability income without a reduction in the monthly benefit for a maximum of 12 monthly benefit payments per claim, as an alternative to the duties based definition. * Extended ADLs are not available where an Any Occupation or Domestic Duties TPD definition is held wholly in superannuation.

Ownership Non-superannuation When FutureWise is applied for outside of superannuation, the policy is issued directly to the individual or entity as policy owner. Within superannuation When FutureWise is applied for within superannuation, the trustee of the relevant superannuation fund applies to Macquarie Life for cover in respect of the relevant member s life, and the policy is issued to the trustee as policy owner. If a benefit becomes payable, it will be paid to the trustee who must distribute the benefit in accordance with the governing rules of the superannuation plan and superannuation laws current at the time of payment. There may be circumstances in which the trustee will receive a benefit under a FutureWise policy but is unable to release all or part of the benefit from the superannuation fund at that time. We recommend your clients seek the relevant specialist advice before applying if they are considering taking this insurance cover within superannuation. Some parts of FutureWise are not available within superannuation. In addition, some modifications to the cover will apply when the cover is held within superannuation. Flexible Linking Flexible Linking is a way of structuring cover so that insurance for your client can be held under separate policies with different policy owners but still be treated as linked insurance. For example, insurance may be held under one policy that is owned by the trustee of a superannuation fund and be connected to a policy owned by your client outside of superannuation. If Superannuation Optimiser applies, two policies connected by Flexible Linking are applied for. One of the policies will be issued to the trustee of a superannuation fund (referred to as the superannuation policy), and the TPD Insurance provided under this policy is called the superannuation component, while the remainder of the cover will be issued under a policy outside superannuation (referred to as the non-superannuation policy), and the TPD Insurance provided under this policy called the non-superannuation component. Policy ownership and premium payment method Premiums can be paid from the following sources: credit card direct debit from an Australian bank account an eligible wrap service held in the same name Macquarie Cash Management Account (CMA). If your client is paying their premiums on an annual basis, they can also choose to pay via: BPAY a rollover from an external superannuation fund (for policies held within the Insurance-Only division of the Macquarie Superannuation Plan) cheque made out to Macquarie Life or, for policies held within the Macquarie Superannuation Plan, Macquarie Investment Management Limited. This means that Life and TPD can be taken within superannuation and the tax efficiencies of such structuring preserved, while at the same time allowing your clients to access linked Trauma Insurance held outside of superannuation. Superannuation Optimiser Under this feature, TPD can be applied for with the part of the TPD Insurance that meets the Superannuation Industry Supervision Act (SIS) definition of permanent incapacity (applied as if Macquarie Life was the trustee of the relevant superannuation fund) held within superannuation and the remainder of the cover held outside of superannuation.
