SPECIFICATIONS FOR DUST MOP SERVICE 1. Furnish and deliver clean dust mops, as well as handles and frames per the attached requirements. 2. Mops should be made with spun polyester backing and the yarn shall be an endless twist yarn. 3. Holders/handles: Must have full swivel for 360º turns. Holders must be so designed that they shall slide into the end flap and be rigid, not collapsible. All mops, handles and frames must be in like new condition at the discretion of the Chief Engineer. 4. Tolls to be included at no extra charge. (Handles, clips, etc.) 5. Mops that are frayed or worn are not acceptable and must be replaced. 6. Broken handles and frames must be replaced, free of charge to the Erie School District. 7. There must be a 24-hour turn-around time for any mop shortages and/or faulty equipment (handles, frames, etc.). The Contractor agrees as follows: 1. In the hiring of employees for the performance of Work under the Contract or any subcontract, no Contractor, subcontractor or any person acting on behalf of the Contractor or subcontractor shall by reason of gender, race, creed or color discriminate against any citizen of this Commonwealth who is qualified and available to perform the Work to which the employment relates. 2. No Contractor or subcontractor or any person on their behalf shall in any manner discriminate against or intimidate any employee hired for the performance of work under the Contract on account of gender, race, creed or color. 3. The Contract may be canceled or terminated by the District and all money due or to become due under the Contract may be forfeited for a violation of the terms or conditions of that portion of the Contract. HUMAN RELATIONS ACT The Contractor acknowledges application of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act. 43 P.S. 951, et seq., prohibiting discrimination based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, ancestry, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, familial status or nonjob-related disability, by employers, employment agencies, labor organizations, contractors and others. The Contractor shall comply with the provisions of the Act, as amended, which is hereby made a part of these specifications. Contractor shall maintain such insurance as follows: a. Workmen s Compensation Insurance sufficient to cover all of the employees of the contractor working to fulfill this contract. b. Comprehensive General Liability Insurance and Property and Damage Insurance. The limits of such insurance shall not be less than $1,000,000 for injury to or death of one person in a single occurrence and $3,000,000 for injury to or death of more than one person in a single occurrence and $500,000 for a single occurrence of property damage. c. Umbrella excess liability policy for a minimum of $5,000,000 in effect for the life of the contract. d. Pollution Liability Insurance shall be provided in the amount of $3,000,000 for each pollution incident. If coverage is written on a claim made basis, proof of continuous coverage shall be provided for a period of not less than five years after the services performed under this contract. The Erie School District shall be named as additional
insured. Said policy to cover all items included in the scope of work for the proposed contract. The aforementioned policies of insurance shall be specifically designed to protect the District from all claims and damages, including wrongful death claims, of any nature whatsoever, which may arise from the operations of the Contractor or by someone either directly or indirectly employees by the Contractor for the purpose of accompanying some obligation upon the Contractor by the terms of the service contract. All of the insurance policies herein mentioned, including the Workman s Compensation policy, shall be written with companies acceptable to the District and authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and shall be obtained and properly endorsed before any operations of the Contractor are commenced within the District s facilities. All of these said policies shall remain in full force and effect until expiration of the term of the service contract or the completion of all duties to be performed hereunder by the Contractor, which ever shall occur later or any other later date as may be required by the document. Contractor shall likewise deposit with the District either the original policies of insurance herein mentioned, or certified copies thereof.
