Provenance Victor Bailey From the age of sixteen, Victor Bailey (1960-2016) knew one day he would replace virtuoso bassist Jaco Pastorius in the seminal jazz fusion band Weather Report. At eighteen, Bailey enrolled in the Berklee College of Music, and four years later in 1982, Pastorius was out and the gig with Weather Report was his. In the years since, Victor Bailey played on over 1,000 recordings and lent his talent to artists as varied as L.L. Cool J, Mary J. Blige, Madonna, and Lady Gaga. Although his bass took him around the world, Victor Bailey s Grammy Award-winning career was bookended by his time in Boston, first as a student, and then as a professor, at the Berklee College of Music. A portion of the proceeds will go towards a Berklee College of Music Bass Department scholarship fund in his name. Randy L. Steenburgen The recipient of three gold medals and the honorary designation of Hors Concours from the Violin Society of America in 1986, Randy L. Steenburgen (1949-2016) plied his trade as a stained glass artist, carpenter, and computer programmer, before achieving critical acclaim as a bow maker. 4
