THE JOHN DEERE BULK OIL PROGRAM 2007 Rev. 2011 1 B u l k O i l P r o g r a m

Bulk Oil Program Overview Value Added For Dealers And Customers Cost Savings Calculations How The Program Works Equipment Products Available Overview Purpose of Converting to a Bulk Oil System Converting to a Bulk Oil System has many advantages which include a direct cost savings on the purchase of oil, handling and storage savings, and more efficient distribution in your dealership and at customer locations. A bulk system is also an excellent way to meet current and future environmental needs. The requirements for handling oil are changing, and converting to a Bulk Oil System is one way to meet many of the challenges. These challenges include safer and cleaner storage of large quantities of oils in the workplace. The need to reduce the number of containers that pollute the environment, or cannot be reclaimed efficiently, are another challenge we are all facing. 2 B u l k O i l P r o g r a m

Value Added for Customers on the Bulk Oil Program Dealership: 1. Reduced purchased cost of oil 2. Reduced material handling of drums and pails 3. Improved inventory control of oil 4. Reduced drum disposal problems 5. Increased shop efficiency 6. Environmentally friendlier alternative 3 B u l k O i l P r o g r a m

Cost Savings Calculations HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS Who Will Distribute John Deere Oil? The distributor was selected by John Deere to deliver selected John Deere oil in bulk quantities direct to dealers and retail customers. Many have been working with Deere for many years and are trusted and valued partners. The distributor will receive John Deere oil in tank loads and store in tanks that are dedicated to John Deere oil only. 4 B u l k O i l P r o g r a m

How Will The Oil Be Delivered To The Dealers And Customers? The distributor will deliver the oil via tanker truck fleet or truck with dedicated compartments. The minimum delivery amount is approximately 200 gallons for dealer customers. [Can be combination of both engine oil and hydraulic oil] The distributor will deliver based on a normal delivery route. Many distributors will aid dealerships in the selection of proper bulk equipment for customers who do not already have it. John Deere also offers a bulk hardware program for direct purchase and delivery to dealers or customers. How Will The Oil Be Billed? The distributor will complete a delivery receipt at the time of delivery, which will include the date, time, and number of gallons delivered by product. Dealer off-site customers receiving oil will receive a ticket, which a copy is also provided to the servicing dealer. The delivery receipt will constitute a dealer order and should be billed by the dealer to that customer. How Will The Quality Be Verified? The lubricant supplier will continue to provide a certificate of analysis and take oil retains before shipping the lubricant to the distributor. It is the customer s responsibility to provide clean bulk containers and to keep those containers free from contaminants and moisture. What Are The Warranty Terms? The oil delivered in the bulk program has the same 90-day warranty as our pre-packaged oil. However, all warranty requests must be pre-approved by the branch/division and JDM. When defective or contaminated oil is claimed, the supplier and distributor retains will be tested. Contaminants present in the oil, but not found in the oil retains will not be covered by warranty as the contamination would have happened at the customer location. 5 B u l k O i l P r o g r a m

Equipment Dealer Requirements 1. Customers will be required to have adequate approved equipment to receive oil via bulk delivery. 2. The minimum storage tank requirement is 250-275 gallons per product. Size needs to be enough to handle proper volume usage to avoid constant refilling. Optional Equipment Waste oil recovery systems are available in the market. Proper handling of waste oils is going to be mandatory in the future. Having a UL approved system will benefit your dealership by giving you an efficient, clean method of storing used oils. 6 B u l k O i l P r o g r a m
