What is Proxsys? With an intuitive browser-based interface, robust features, and scalable configuration options, the Proxsys Media Server makes media asset management and media archiving simple and cost-effective. By combining the functionality, flexibility, and scalability of a custom system with the implementation time and ownership cost of an "out of the box" solution, Proxsys gives you the performance you want for a price you can afford. Applications Proxsys Main Screen List View Broadcast Video Archiving and Management Training, Seminar, Legacy Recording and Management Managed Media Distribution Managed Media Aggregation Cost saving Video Hierarchical Storage Management Local TV, Camps TV full feature solution (on air, internet, archive) Training and Distance Learning Video Monitoring and 24/7 legal recordings Proxsys Media Server A fully integrated solution, the Proxsys Media Server combines Proxsys software with professional-grade server hardware to provide a turnkey media asset management system that can easily grow as your needs evolve. Media stored on Proxsys is accessed through an intuitive browser-based interface (Windows Os and MAC OS supported)-no proprietary client software is required. Designed for fast performance, the Proxsys Media Server uses rich metadata to make it easy to find and retrieve media assets quickly. Low-resolution H.264 proxy video clips from nearly all popular file and codec formats (eg. XDCAM, XDCAM EX, AVCIntra, AVCHD, DNxHD, ProRes422, H.264, MPEG2) allow for quick preview, protect high-resolution media assets, and save network bandwidth. The browser-based user interface provides immediate access to audio, video, images, and text-based data from any location. Additional features include online, nearline and offline usage, picture-to-clip extract, multi-client support and access rights management. No compromise was made to support complex file structures (eg. Sony XDCAM, Panasonic P2) or even complete NLE projects from popular editing software like AVID Media Composer, Adobe Premiere or Apple Final Cut. Related content offers the user to connect any files like contracts, presentations or graphics to media content. Proxsys Preview Player
Importing, Tagging, and Organizing Media Media Import The Proxsys Media Server Version 7.x software includes Proxsys Media Upload, a feature that enables you to import individual media files, complex media file structures or entire video editing projects ( NLE ) keeping the metadata and full file structure. Even complete storage devices or folders can be selected. Proxsys Uploader Search With Proxsys and its rich metadata capabilities, you'll no longer have to thumb through tapes and DVDs on your shelves, go through folders on your hard disks, or fast-forward through hours of footage trying to find the exact clip that you need-simply enter your search criteria, and Proxsys will display the clips that meet your requirements. It's that simple. Search results are displayed in list or icon view. Proxsys Content Search Camera and Custom-Defined Metadata Proxsys displays the metadata that your camera provides and allows you to add numerous custom fields. With its rich metadata capabilities, Proxsys enables you to categorize, track, search, and find clips-with amazing speed. phonetic search or search by image completes the feature set. Projects Proxsys uses projects to organize and store media and related files. When you import media, you can either create a new project or assign it to an existing project. Projects can also have subfolders, allowing you to organize files within a project. Media can be assigned to projects based on metadata. As a result, the same video clips can be shared by multiple projects for efficient storage. Different view options enables the user to either concentrate on thumbnails or on metadata lists to find the right content. Preview Proxsys protects your footage and conserves network bandwidth by automatically generating low-resolution H.264 proxy video clips for preview. Using the Flash or HTML5 technology for preview it is not required to install the codecs required for the HiRes playback. In addition to previewing clips, you can also download the entire clip or set start and end points and download a specific portion of the clip for editing or distribution.
Proxsys Container Functionality Product Highlights Exporting Media Full-bandwidth media can be saved to a desktop or it can be easily distributed. Proxsys features a number of export modules (some modules are sold separately) that simplify the distribution process. For example, you can upload video from Proxsys to a web server or an FTP server. When you make video available for download, you can incorporate an order form to collect information before download can begin, ensuring that you capture information about those who use your footage. If you'd like to allow others to download contents just send out a link via the optional download link export module. Turnkey Media Asset management and Archive Solution Build-In Videoserver for Proxy Render, Picture and Clip extract All popular video codecs and wrapper supported (f.e. Online Storage Perfect for daily use, online storage provides quick access to your digital media files over a network. Available in internal and custom configurations, Proxsys online storage options starts at 16 Terabyte and features capacities of up to Petabytes. Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) Proxsys technology using proxy Previews and original HiRes Content in parallel is predestinated for hieracical storage management. While the proxy Previews always remain on harddisk storage original HiRes content can be migrated to cost effective and reliable LTO-5/6 tapes tapes. During the search and preview the user gets full performance access, only if HiRes is needed Proxsys will restore files back from LTO-tape. Crossroad Strongbox is utilized as a turnkey LTO tape library control solution. Proxsys Export/Distribution Multiple export modules and distribution methods offers the user extremely efficient workflows. Simply choose the modules or methods that fits your requirements.
