SHOWE-IT- Aim & objectives Reduce energy and water consumption in social housing by optimal use of novel ICT applications Realise an overall energy and water consumption reduction of 15-25% at an investment of 3000 /dwelling (long term prices) Develop, install and manage ICT in 211 dwellings Realise behavioural change through ICT enabled services Create business case HW and Software Housing companies Energy suppliers Tenants

Consortium

3 Pilot sites Botkyrkabyggen (Tuna, Sweden) 82 apartments, 40 control group Built 1962 Rochdale (England) Les Allées Vertes Ecully (France) 66 dwellings

SUSLABNWE- Aim & objectives set up a networked infrastructure of houses and living laboratories for studying technology-user interaction in real-life home environments become a world-leading networked knowledge hub, well-embedded in the local knowledge infrastructure, business and society, that provides: testing facilities for industry (large companies and SMEs), knowledge institutes and policymakers, and methodologies for (co-)development with actual users, sustainable products and services that are integrated part of the build environment (e.g. heating) INTERREG IVB NWE - SusLabNWE!

3-phase model SusLabNWE 3-phase methodology Phase 1 Insight testing Generating insights in the field Phase 2 Prototyping / cocreation Developing & testing early prototypes Phase 3 Field testing Evaluating fully functional prototypes in the field Existing homes living laboratory Existing or newly built homes

Each SusLabNWE location will be set up according to the same philosophy and requirements and networked through a common data sharing infrastructure and consist of: access to a stock of existing homes and new sustainable (demo)homes, to be used (with the consent of inhabitants) for performing insight testing on daily practices at home one or more easily adaptable living laboratories in each location, temporarily inhabited by volunteers participating in user-testing with and co- creation of prototypes of sustainable products and services,

Main outputs SusLabNWE infrastructure created at 4 different locations and consisting of 2 living laboratory facilities for prototyping and co-creation: in Rotterdam (NL) and London (UK) 30-50 test houses prepared for insight and field testing at 4 locations: Rotterdam (NL),London (UK), city of Bottrop (DE) and Mölndal near Gothenburg (SE) 3-phase methodology developed and validated in a pilot on smart meters for heating and cooling solid basis for continued use and exploitation of the infrastructure at the different locations
