Note: The image on the SATA-DOM is not touched by this instruction. After resetting the BRS Appliance from the SATA-DOM, the earlier BRS version 8.9 is installed on the BRS Appliance again. To upgrade the unit to v8.10 this instruction has to be followed again then. To upgrade BRS Appliance from v8.9 to v8.10, perform the following steps: Upgrading BRS application from v8.9 to v8.10 (see chapter 2) Upgrading BRS Web Server settings (see chapter 3) Upgrading BVIP ConfigManager from v4.24 to v4.33 (see chapter 4) Page 1 of 17
2 Upgrading BRS application from v8.9 to v8.10 To upgrade BRS application from v8.9 to v8.10, perform the following steps: 1. Saving configuration file (see page 2) 2. Uninstalling BRS v8.9 (see page 3) 3. Installing BRS v8.10 (see page 4) 2.1 Saving configuration file To save the BRS configuration file 1. Logon Windows as administrator (during startup press Shift key to get the logon mask) 2. Right-click Bosch Recording Station, select Run as administrator. 3. Logon BRS as Administrator 4. System > Configuration In Options > under Configuration data, click Save. Page 2 of 17
5. Save vidsys.prm in e.g. D:\ and click Save. 6. Click OK. 7. Exit Configuration and exit BRS application. 2.2 Uninstalling BRS v8.9 To uninstall BRS v8.9 1. Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program > select Bosch Recording Station and click Uninstall. Page 3 of 17
2. Click Yes. 3. Click Finish to restart the system. 4. Logon Windows as administrator (during startup press Shift key to get the logon mask) 2.3 Installing BRS v8.10 To install BRS v8.10 1. Install BRS application version 8.10.0.126 (Setup.exe) from e.g. BRS 8.10 Setup DVD (BRS Tower) or USB memory stick (BRS rackmount). Follow the instructions on the screen. 2. Keep Setup Type Bosch Recording Station (recorder/receiver) selected > click Next. Page 4 of 17
3. Keep default path > click Next. 4. Click Finish to restart the system. 5. Login Windows as administrator (during startup press Shift key to get the logon mask) 6. Right-click Bosch Recording Station, select Run as administrator. 7. Usually the configuration is kept, BRS is starting up. If requested, load the BRS Configuration file, saved in chapter 2.1. 8. Restart the system, BRSuser logs on automatically. Page 5 of 17
3 Upgrading BRS Web Server settings To upgrade the Web Server logon Windows as administrator (during startup press Shift key to get the logon mask) Note: Do not start BRS application during configuring the Web Server. To upgrade BRS Web Server for BRS v8.10, perform the following steps: 1. Registering ASP.NET 4.0 (see page 6) 2. Configuring Default Web Site in IIS (see page 7) 3. Disabling Application Recycling (see page 8) 4. Allowing ASP.NET 4.0 (see page 9) 5. Configuring DCOM Permissions (see page 11) 3.1 Registering ASP.NET 4.0 To register ASP.NET 4.0 1. Open a Command Prompt with administrative rights: Start > All Programs > Accessories > right-click Command Prompt > Run as administrator. 2. Type C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe i and press Enter. 3. Close Command Prompt. Page 6 of 17
3.2 Configuring Default Web Site in IIS To configure Default Web Site in IIS 1. Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager > Computer name (local computer) > Sites > Default Web Site > under Edit Site, click Basic Settings... 2. Click Select 3. In the Application pool: box, select ASP.NET v4.0 Classic > click OK. Page 7 of 17
4. Check the Physical path: C:\Program Files\Bosch\Recording Station\Web\aspx and click OK. 5. Close IIS Manager. 3.3 Disabling Application Recycling To disable application recycling 1. Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager > Computer name (local computer) > Application Pools. 2. Right-click ASP.NET v4.0 Classic and select Recycling Page 8 of 17
3. In Recycling Conditions, deselect all selected check boxes, click Next. 4. Click Finish. 5. Close IIS Manager. 3.4 Allowing ASP.NET 4.0 To allow ASP.NET 4.0 1. Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager > Computer name (local computer) > 2. Right-click ISAPI and CGI Restrictions and select Open Feature. Page 9 of 17
3. Right-click ASP.NET v4.0.30319...c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\... > Under Actions, select Allow. 4. Right-click ASP.NET v4.0.30319...c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework64\... > Under Actions, select Allow. 5. Close IIS Manager. Page 10 of 17
3.5 Configuring DCOM Permissions To configure DCOM permissions 1. Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Component Services > 2. Component Services > Computers > My Computer > DCOM Config 3. Quit 2 warning windows with click on No. 4. Right-click VirtualInputs > Properties. 5. Tab Security Under Launch and Activation Permissions, select Customize, click Edit. Page 11 of 17
6. In Launch and Activation Permissions, click Add 7. In the Select Users or Groups dialog box, click Advanced 8. Click Find Now. Then select IUSR, and then click OK. Page 12 of 17
9. The name is displayed in Select Users or Groups dialog box. Click OK. 10. Select IUSR, > in the Allow column, select Local Activation. 11. Click OK. 12. Under Access Permissions select Customize, click Edit. Page 13 of 17
13. In Access Permissions, click Add 14. In the Select Users or Groups dialog box, click Advanced 15. Click Find Now. Then select IUSR, and then click OK. Page 14 of 17

Installing BVIP ConfigManager v4.33 (see page 17) 4.1 Uninstalling BVIP ConfigManager v4.24 To uninstall BVIP ConfigManager v4.24 1. Logon Windows as administrator (during startup press Shift key to get the logon mask) 2. Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program > select Bosch Configuration Manager 04.21.0002.0 and click Uninstall/Change. 3. Click Yes. 4. Click OK. 5. Close Control Panel. Page 16 of 17
4.2 Installing BVIP ConfigManager v4.33 To install BVIP ConfigManager v4.33 1. Install ConfigManager version 4.33.0023 from e.g. BRS 8.10 Setup DVD \Tools\BVIP Configuration Manager\ Setup_ConfigManager_04.33.0023.0.exe (BRS Tower) or USB memory stick (BRS rackmount). Follow the instructions on the screen. 2. De-select iqn-mapper, click Next. 3. Keep default path > click Install. 4. Click Finish. 5. Reboot the computer. STDN/PRM Page 17 of 17
