Nordic Co-operation Mission: Nordic Casemix Centre develops and maintains as a Nordic co-operation common Nordic Casemix systems to improve quality and efficiency in healthcare. It supports Casemix development to improve quality and efficiency of healthcare. Vision: The Nordic Casemix work is up to date and built on common Nordic goals and the Nordic area collaborates actively in the work. The systems are transparent and used by all countries. It supports healthcare benchmarking and analyses, promotes knowledge and understanding about content and use of Nordic Casemix systems. Strategic statements 2014-2018 Nordic Casemix association promotes of knowledge, understanding and feasibility on Casemix. The Association works in close collaboration with decision makers, health care experts and other stakeholders by ensuring that the system is broadly used and well known in participating countries. Nordic Casemix co-operation has no active goals to expand NordDRG system to new countries. Grouper development maintenance process is developed continuously to assure deliveries of good quality. With continuous development of working process with modern tools this is possible without major increase in resource use. Nordic Casemix development has strong relation to primary classifications and their development. It follows the latest international and Nordic work on health care classifications and participates in classification development actively The NordDRG definition tables and the NordDRG Manual are public to allow different software producers to develop competing grouper programs 14.5.2014 Nordic Casemix Centre 5

Strategy: With continuous development of working process with modern tools, Grouper development maintenance process works without major increase in resource use. Forum software The new Forum is an open source software called RedMine ( http://www.redmine.org) The Redmine runs on Red Hat Linux operating system. The NordDRG Redmine is configured to use relational database (PostgreSQL) as persistence layer to store the data inserted through the Redmine users interface. 14.5.2014 Nordic Casemix Centre 14

NDMS project s goals Be able to replace the existing FoxPro based NDMS tool with the VAGS based tool. No more support for the old software. Approach has been tested during 2014-2015 and after this testing period it is decided if the old FoxPro system can be replaced with the new one Produce and publish the NordDRG manuals for all national versions using VAGS by end of the year 2014 Result of the project is, that the table maintenance process becomes more effective and transparent and the manuals can be produced automatically 14.5.2014 Nordic Casemix Centre 18

Git version control software have been preliminary tested in Nordic Casemix Essentially a version control system (or a revision control system) is software that has the ability to manage and track changes that occur to any document that is in a given project.. Why version controll is important for us? Groupers are produced to; Common version (maintenance), Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland (owners), Estonia and Latvia (supporting partners) Each year 16 versions of groupers are produced. This is the reason why version control between groupers and changes is so important Each country have their own DRG grouper each year because National basic classifications (ICD, Interventions) National versions are linked together and linked codes have identical properties Logic (DRG rules) may vary between the countries Common changes and national changes 14.5.2014 Nordic Casemix Centre 23
