Empowering sustainable and ethical supply chains

Sedex is a not for profit global membership organisation dedicated to driving improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains. As the largest collaborative platform for sharing ethical supply chain data, Sedex is an innovative and effective supply chain management solution, helping you to reduce risk, protect your company reputation and improve supply chain practices. Key Sedex facts Ethical supply chains In today s market, the ethical and responsible performance of companies is under increasing scrutiny from customers, the media, investors and other stakeholders. Companies are under constant pressure to monitor and understand their supply chains. Revelations of unfair or unsafe labour practices, corruption or environmental negligence in the supply chain can damage a company s reputation and lead to a loss of revenue. Consequently, suppliers are under pressure to provide ethical data to various customers, undergo multiple audits and comply with different codes and standards. Duplicating all of this information can be counter-productive, often leading to a loss of productivity and preventing suppliers from concentrating resources on actually improving standards. The effective management and monitoring of supply chains is vital in helping to drive improvements in labour and environmental standards, but, how can companies achieve this without increasing the administrative burden on suppliers? 23,000+ members 23+ industry sectors 150+ countries

Sedex: Information Exchange Sedex offers a simple and effective way of managing ethical and responsible practices in your supply chain. Customer Its two main goals are: 1. to ease the burden on suppliers facing multiple audits, questionnaires and certifications Sedex 2. to drive improvements in the ethical performance of global supply chains Our core product is a secure, online database which allows members to store, share and report on information in four key areas: Labour Standards Buyers can view and manage ethical information for all their suppliers in one secure place Health and Safety The Environment Business Practices For buyers, Sedex offers an online system for collecting and analysing information on ethical and responsible business practices in the supply chain. The system enables buyers to run reports on a variety of ethical supply chain data and track suppliers progress on key issues. In addition, a Risk Assessment tool (developed in partnership with global risk experts Maplecroft) helps companies to identify the likelihood of risk in their supply chain and prioritise resources to effectively manage this risk. For suppliers, Sedex provides an efficient and cost-effective way of sharing ethical information with multiple customers. This helps to cut down on unnecessary paperwork, saving companies time and money. Customer Customer Customer Sedex s can enter their ethical information and choose to share it with multiple customers on Sedex s complete one self assessment questionnaire and can choose to share this with multiple customers on Sedex, along with any other relevant ethical information, such as audit reports, certificates and corrective action plans. By allowing suppliers to share the same data with many customers, Sedex helps reduce the need for multiple audits, allowing both parties to concentrate on making improvements. Sedex is not a standard setting body, code of conduct or certification. Instead, our role is to enable you to effectively share and manage supply chain information, with the aim of driving continuous improvement.
