Calypso Services from First Derivatives include implementation, development, training and support to manage the complete application lifecycle Completeness, accuracy and timeliness are the three tenets of robust transaction management - and it is in trading systems such as Calypso that they must be unambiguously evident. Implementing Calypso FD has developed an approach and toolset called the Delta Operations Network for implementing Calypso projects in a controlled, cost effective and optimised manner. Its implementation methodology is based on ensuring that the project team have a complete and unambiguous understanding of the business requirements and enables them to adopt an iterative process of prototyping throughout the design and build phase. Throughout the Requirements & Analysis phase we continuously compare the users requirements to the Calypso FastTrack process so that the client leverages as much functionality as possible. The Requirements & Analysis phase enables the project team to have a very clear definition of the implementation scope. It is also within our project methodology to deliver prototypes to the project business analysts and users throughout the design and build phase. This allows the users to begin initial testing and also to provide their feedback to the implementation team on the progress of the design and build phase. For integration FD has a long and established background in analyzing, building and testing interfaces whether they are simple FTP file generations or more complex bi-directional data transfers between 3 rd party technology providers. As part of the Delta Operations Network, Delta Auto Synch provides a synchronisation between versions. By completing automated real-time business simulations between the production version and the target upgrade versions clients can significantly mitigate exposure to post upgrade issues. Testing Our philosophy to testing is underpinned by the fact that the later an issue or bug is found, the longer and more costly it is to fix. FD s standard testing approach is outlined in the diagram below: Functionality testing is used to determine that a system satisfies the requirements specified in the requirements analysis phase and satisfies user acceptance criteria. The acceptance test design is derived from the requirements document. Regression testing is the execution of previously executed test cases against an updated version of the software to ensure earlier defects have been addressed and changes made have not introduced new defects or reintroduced old ones. Performance testing is carried out to ensure that the software has been built and designed to meet the response times and throughput defined by the client. It can also serve to validate and verify other quality attributes of the system, such as scalability, reliability and resource usage and includes load testing, stress testing, endurance testing and spike testing Automated Regression Testing Based on the experience gleaned from successful system migrations and upgrades, FD has built an automated regression testing solution called Delta Rec with the Delta Operations Network. This application tests how the delivery of a new Calypso release into production will impact the current production. Using a multi-day scenario Delta Rec reconciles output files from the Reference Environment (current production) against that of the upgrade (Test Environment) in order to identify matches, breaks and duplications. It has the capability of putting through billions of rows of data to return both matched & unmatched results in a highly perfomant manner. Delta Rec can also be used for Regression Testing, Black Box Tests, New Releases, Parallel Runs, Reconciliations & Upgrades. Page 7 of 16

Managing Calypso As financial institutions strive to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership of vendor packages, close attention is paid to the management of these applications through proactive monitoring of system performance, support services and periodic system health checks Monitoring. FD provides monitoring screens that enable support teams to view metrics and statistics on individual servers at an infrastructure level configurable with alerts to highlight when key indicators like memory utilisation, CPU, queue depths or disk usage exceed predefined limits. Early detection in this manner enables swift, targeted remedial action. Similarly, at the application level users can view details on engine status, processing backlogs, scheduled tasks, and information on long running queries when started and by whom. Support Services First Derivatives has a well-defined and mature production support management process encapsulated into the Delta Operations Network which allows effective capture, reporting, tracking and resolution of issues. The service includes: 1 st Line support and system monitoring, incidents and support requested are logged and Calypso is monitored and management reports are produced. 2 nd Line support, incidents are analysed and resolved through configuration or small scale fixes. 3 rd Line support, bugs are fixed, incidents and problems managed and first and second line escalations and small enhancements made. Governance and transparency around support is achieved though well defined procedures for issue tracking, issue categorisation, agreed response time and escalation procedures via a dedicated service desk that provides a single point of contact for customers. Additional services are available for configuration changes and release management Health Check Using FD s Calypso Health Check we are able to determine the wellbeing of your system. Our Health Check uses the process illustrated below to evaluate and optimize the implementation to deliver the best possible performance, robustness and scalability. The goal of the Health Check delivers a set of collateral to help administer the process: tracking templates, user documentation, IT data collection tools and client knowledge base. Case Studies Background: The client had selected Calypso as its front-to-back trading platform across all asset classes and commissioned FD to assist in its implementation and testing. As part of the implementation FD has sole responsibility for developing the reporting requirements for the creation and continuation data for derivatives to the DTCC. As it was the client s first implementation of Calypso it required training in how to use, support and test the application across front, middle and back office. Drivers: The client wanted a trusted partner to provide assistance in overall implementation and detailed design of their first implementation of Calypso, guidance on best practices associated with the technical and functional aspects of the product and assistance in integrating with downstream systems. The client required specific help in enhancing Calypso to support its DTCC reporting requirements. The client also wanted a parallel-run phase following go-live for which FD deployed its own product Delta Rec to reconcile data daily between Calypso and the legacy system. The client s internal team lacked testing expertise and capital market resources and looked to FD to provide assistance in planning, training, management and test execution throughout the project What we did: Developed & delivered training programmes covering front, middle and back office for the Calypso product, the capital markets in general and on application testing in particular Developed, Implemented and supported a solution to meet clients Dodd Frank regulatory requirements from it Near Shore centre in Newry QA team analysed all Business Requirements and built test-packs with detailed test steps in order that the clients inexperienced testers could execute same Following go-live Client used FD Delta Rec tool to reconcile data from their legacy system to calypso Benefits: Client received implementation of Calypso that was tailored to their specific needs; client had unique reporting requirements along with a complex workflow which was not simply an out of the box solution Elimination of their current inefficient process for Dodd Frank reporting, FD absorbed all training, resource and relocation overheads Client s testing team now has comprehensive, very user friendly test-packs in order to assist with their future regression testing in further phases During critical parts of the project FD were able to ramp up the Near Shore resources to ensure deadlines were met. Background: FD had been working on a cross asset Calypso project as part of the business analysis team. The client approached FD to outsource their complete QA testing for all products and processes using their proposed near-shore model for Quality Assurance services. FD proposed a full skilled Calypso near-shore team at FD HQ with onsite representation for iterative solutions. Drivers: The client faced a great challenge to deliver a major cross asset products, processes and functions in multiple phases over a 12 month period. The client required a highly experienced Calypso solution provider who understood their product suite and were fully trained on Calypso cross asset features. The client required test cases and test execution which could be achieved within their milestones on time and on budget. What we did: Analysed Cross Asset Business requirements and identified all test cases Developed test scripts and test data Executed all test cases Scaled resourcing based on highly aggressive milestones in order to meet delivery schedule Onsite QA guidance throughout to manage the deliverables and communications within their large organisation. Benefits: Client went live with multiple projects on time on budget QA service delivered fixed price FD absorbed all training, resource and relocation overheads Client received 1000 s of test cases for continuous execution and improvement A fixed price servicing model created to scale their delivery team based on the complexity and volume of testing requirements. Case Studies Background: FD had engaged with a new client to deliver a full Calypso upgrade from version 9 to version 13. As part of the project FD proposed a hybrid onsite/near-shore model to provide Project Management, Technical Analysis, Business Analysis and Quality Assurance functions. Drivers: The client had set aggressive timelines to deliver the upgrade on its front-to-back cross-asset platform. With a significant volume of functional and technical changes between versions the client wanted to build or buy a robust, efficient and flexible upgrade and testing solution. The client had additional challenges in relation to budget, headcount and desk-space so required a partner to take ownership of the key deliverables and to provide a significant proportion of these services from a near-shore location. What we did: Provided a pre-engagement on-site POC of our automated tools capability to help shape the delivery scope Partnered with client to prepare a project plan defining which functions would best be delivered near-shore Provided flexible resourcing to scale up or down and rotation between on-site and near-shore locations as required Deployed and customised automated solutions from near-shore location Benefits: FD successfully built out all technical deliverables from near-shore location Provided resources on-site at short notice to ramp up onsite team Partnership agreement provided client comfort in mitigating some delivery risk Client expected to deliver project on-time at fixed price Automated tools provided significant resource and time savings Background: FD were engaged by the client to manage the ongoing support and development of their in-house Fixed Income Back Office platform to enable the existing team to focus on the roll-out of its replacement vendor system Calypso. Case Studies Background: FD has been investigating greatly in building solutions which can expedite the implementation and upgrade time for Calypso clients. Two of those tools can be greatly leveraged as part of upgrades (Delta Synch for parallel runs and Delta Rec for regression testing and reconciliations between environments).
