2014 EOCT Online Test Site Readiness Guide and Software Installation Instructions The purpose of this process is to certify that the testing sites are set up and ready for testing according to CTB site readiness guidelines. It is incumbent upon the School Technology Coordinators to ensure that workstation and network requirements have been met and that confirmation of such be sent to CTB and the Test Coordinators prior to any students taking practice tests. These critical activities must be completed in order to prevent delays in testing in your system/ schools. Each School Technology Coordinator must certify that his/her site is prepared for testing prior to the start of practice tests but no later than one week prior to the start of EOCT Online Test at your school. After completing the tasks below, each School Technology Coordinator should complete the form provided at the end of this document and email it to: georgiahelpdesk@ctb.com 1) Confirm minimum requirements Review the minimum requirements document located on the www.ctb.com/gaeoct website:. 2) Uninstall previous versions The TDC version for EOCT Mid-Month test is Ver 15.0. Any old versions of the online testing system should be removed from student workstations: On PC, use Uninstall Online Assessment which is located in the Start>Programs> CTB>Online Assessment menu. Alternatively, you can use the Add/Remove Software feature in your Windows Control Panel. On Mac, use the Uninstall Online Assessment.app found in the Applications/Online Assessment/Uninstall Online Assessment folder. On Linux, use the Uninstall Online Assessment.bin found in the [installation folder]/online Assessment/Uninstall Online Assessment folder. 3) Install software Before you can install the new Online Assessment Software, there are other software applications (helper applications) that must reside on the workstation. These are known as software prerequisites because they are required for the testing software to run correctly, and they must be in place before the assessment software can be installed. Software prerequisites vary based on the operating system. Note: The following steps must be completed on each workstation. If you use a computer imaging package, be sure you complete all steps and then copy the image to your other workstations. Content CTB Technical Support if you have compatibility issues with 3 rd party software and the CTB software. Page 1 of 11

Click the Online Assessment icon on your desktop. After a few seconds, the Online Assessment login page appears. 4) Run the Network Utility: Run the connectivity check on a few (or all) workstations to verify that your network can communicate with the CTB servers. Launch the Network Utility from the folder you specified at installation, or from the CTB >Online Assessment menu. The Network Connectivity Test tab is the default on startup. Run the following tests: Network Connectivity Test Bandwidth Simulation Save the results files for the Network Connectivity and the Bandwidth Simulation. Refer to the Network Utility User Guide for additional information on available features and instructions for using the utility 5) Install the GA EOCT Mid-Month Online Test content Installation of the test content on the student workstations is highly recommended to minimize the use of network capacity during those peak use times instead of downloading the content when the students start testing (the average content package is 7 MB). In early May, prior to the state testing window start, CTB distributes by email user accounts to all system Test Coordinators and Technology Coordinators based on the information provided during the registration for online testing. Once you receive the operational account information log into the https://oas.ctb.com and navigate to Download Test page under Services > Workstation Setup > Download Test.. Page 4 of 11

The content must be downloaded once on a workstation and then copied on all remaining ones. The software installation described in the steps above must be completed before the content installation. The encrypted content then resides on the workstation to be used until the software is uninstalled. Following are the steps to download tests and cache them on the workstation. 1. Log in to OAS < https://oas.ctb.com > and select Download Test on the Services navigation panel. 2. Select test. A standard File Download dialog asks whether to Open or Save the.zip file containing the content. 3. Click Save. 4. Select a location to save the file temporarily, such as your Desktop. 5. When the download is complete, open the.zip file and Extract or Copy the contents into the "objectbank" folder on the workstation. The default location of the "objectbank" folder is: PC: C:\Program Files\CTB\Online Assessment\data\objectbank Or C:\Program Files (x86)\ctb\online Assessment\data\objectbank Mac: /Applications/Online Assessment/data/objectbank Linux: /usr/local/online Assessment/data/objectbank If you changed the default software location during installation, the object bank path still will be...\online Assessment\data\objectbank Copy the content to all testing workstations Once you have downloaded test content to a single workstation, you can use a shortcut to place the encrypted content on the other student workstations. Although you can download or copy the content.zip file to any workstation without first installing the testing software, you cannot pre-position the content for use until you have installed the testing software on the workstation. a. Navigate to the folder to which you downloaded the test on the first workstation. b. Copy the entire contents of the folder to a network location, jump drive, CD-ROM or other storage media. Page 5 of 11

c.
