Come to the 2014 European Compliance & Ethics Institute MAY 18 21 / LONDON, UK 2013 was a hit. 2014 will be bigger adding a second track of sessions. Watch your email for the agenda and speakers. Here s what people had to say about the 2013 program Just as in business compliance itself, the bar for meetings of compliance practitioners continues to be raised everywhere. The choice of topics, quality and preparation by the speakers, venue + opportunities for connecting with others resulted in this SCCE meeting sailing over the bar with flying colors! Alan Greenwood, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, Dow Corning Corporation A great venue to network and exchange experiences with compliance professionals from leading European companies! Carsten Tams, Senior Vice President, Bertelsmann Ethics & Compliance Executive I was very impressed with the level of professionalism that we found at the Compliance Conference in London. Not only were the topics relevant to all industries and very informative, the ensuing discussions brought insight on how to overcome the various, yet similar, challenges we all face. Without a doubt, I really saw value in the candidness of the participants. A win/win situation for me. I very much enjoyed the Conference and will most likely be attending in the future! Andrea Amann, Senior Finance Manager, Controls & Compliance Manager, CPA, Microsoft Deuschland GmbH The program was both practical (covering the how-to aspect of compliance) and big think in delving into global issues in a thought-provoking way. The speakers were real experts in their fields and the quality of the delegates made every networking break a real pleasure. Lisa Kate Osofsky, Regulatory Advisor, Control Risks As a speaker at the European CEI, I enjoyed the opportunity to present compliance expertise to an attentive and engaging audience. Robert Bond, BA, CCEP, Solicitor & Notary Public, Speechly Bircham LLP Being a US-based corporation and myself being based out of the US I seldom get a chance to interact with international colleagues. This event provided a tremendous opportunity to do just that and allowed me to learn more about the cultural challenges faced in multi-jurisdictional compliance programs. Know where you stand Turn to the Code of Professional Ethics for Compliance and Ethics Professionals While most of our work involves helping others to act ethically and in compliance with the law, there are times when we in the compliance and ethics community may find ourselves in an ethical grey area, a place where it s difficult to see which path is the right one. To help provide guidance, six years ago the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics created the Code of Professional Ethics for Compliance and Ethics Professionals. The Principles it contains are broad standards that provide a framework, and the Rules of Conduct prescribe the minimum level of professional conduct expected. It ll help you know exactly where you stand. Download a copy today in the language of your choice at www.corporatecompliance.org/code 32 www.corporatecompliance.org
