He has a thirty-year software engineering and information technology career. He was educated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree. He is a Minnesota attorney licensed in federal and state court with a law firm in St. Paul. He was educated at Hamline University School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor degree and Certificate in Dispute Resolution. Mr. Carney is a faculty adviser for Century College s Computer Forensics and Investigative Technology program. He holds an ACE certification in computer forensics.
