Experiences about the applying process There was enough of information and support for the applying process CreatiFI provides a good combination of adequate funding and low barrier applying for small initiatives aiming to a commercial product We think it is a very good idea to support new creative initiatives and combine them with open source SW Application process was quite simple It took a long time to read through the guides and terms In the future: even more weight to business value? www.versoteq.com 18 February 2015 6
Experience of the first two months Generic enablers are of high enough quality Documentation is important in this kind of projects, and mostly taken care of Project has proceeded faster than expected due to a) careful planning, b) SCRUM based project management (warmly recommended!) and c) good quality FIWARE We could do a commercial product with other open source / commercial products By altering / removing the final product requirements We receive a lot of emails Some are reminders of things we ve already done (but it takes extra time to check if we have really done it because we received a reminder!) Some are requests of information we ve already sent somewhere else www.versoteq.com 18 February 2015 7
Suggestions of improvements Communication and instructions Is there better method for communicating and delivering the necessary info than duplicate emails? If another open source initiative exists, there s no need for spending EU funds to create a similar open source initiative Some GE s are very similar to other open source solutions, but are more complex On the other hand, many GE s are extremely useful but we did not know of them before this project How to make them more widely known? Google ads? Better categorization? Maybe a smaller - 5ke - fund for winning small competitions? Having more CreatiFI presence in SW events? www.versoteq.com 18 February 2015 8
