COURSE DESCRIPTION: ITD 110 Stresses a working knowledge of web site designs, construction, and management using HTML or XHTML. Course content includes headings, lists, links, images, image maps, tables, forms, and frames. (3 semester hours) Co-requisite/Prerequisite: ITE 115 TEXTBOOK AND SUPPLIES: Basics of Web Design HTML5 and CSS3, 2 nd Edition,Terry Felke-Morris, Addison-Wesley,ISBN: 9780133128918 FTP software Blackboard logon-id, password Internet Connection Storage Device for homework and class work Instructor and Class Web Page I. LEARNING OUTCOMES: Upon completion of the course, the student will produce a webpage using the following: Web Development using HTML5, XHTML, and CSS3

Publishing Web pages to server Use of tags to format texts Create Hypertext links using relative and absolute paths Linking within a document, to an image, to a URL, to a specific document Working with Graphics Use of Tables Working with Forms Cascading Style Sheets Publish Web page with Media and Interactivity II. ASSIGNMENTS: Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4 Case Studies and Web Project documents must be attached to appropriate link in Blackboard. Beginning with Chapter 5, all Case Study web sites and Web Project Web Site must be published (ftp d) to the student s site on the class web server. The student will ftp their work to: ftp:student.germanna.edu. The student will view their work at: http://student.germanna.edu/yourlogonid. The student s home page must be named: index.htm. Students will be notified of their logon id and password before work begins on Chapter 5. The Study links from the student s home page must include the Chapter number. Sequence the links to the assignments according to the order they are assigned. Incomplete, unlabeled, or un-sequenced assignments/class work will NOT be graded. No Late Work accepted. No Excuses. No Exceptions. The Course Outline, Course Schedule, and Power Point Lectures are located in Blackboard. Power Point Lectures are posted under the Course Materials tab. Assignments are listed on the Course Schedule with due dates. Book Work is completed by following the step-by-step instructions for each chapter in the textbook.
