Brochure More information from http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/680168/ New Zealand - Mobile Communications - Statistics, Analysis and Major Operators Description: New Zealand's mobile market continues to undergo significant developments. Spark has closed down its CDMA network and launched an in-house MVNO, Skinny, as also a commercial LTE service which covers most of the country. This competes with LTE offers from Vodafone and New Zealand's third mobile operator 2degrees, the latter having launched in mid-2014. Mobile market penetration, at around 120-125%, is growing steadily as operators provide add-on packs attracting increased usage at a lower cost. With spectrum auctions allowing for the expansion of LTE networks, and further regional deployment of 3G coverage under the RBI, we expect to see steady subscriber growth across the networks. 2degrees has enjoyed solid subscriber growth since launching services in 2009. The operator has around 25% overall market share of subscribers. Although 2degrees secured spectrum in the 700MHz band in late 2013, it may nevertheless find it difficult to compete against Vodafone and Spark which have considerably more spectrum at their disposal. This report provides market analyses as well as operating and revenue statistics and forecasts for the New Zealand mobile market, with recent market updates. More extensive details on the operations of Vodafone and Spark New Zealand are covered in separate company reports at: www.budde.com.au. Key developments: 2degrees acquires the ISP Snap to enter the fixed-mobile convergence market; Vodafone teams with Netflix to provide content on smartphones; PT Telekom ends talks to acquire up to 30% of 2degrees; Spark secures the remaining spectrum block in the 700MHz band, launches LTE in the 700MHz band in the Waikato, signs MoU with Huawei to upgrade its 3G network and provide CA technology; Vodafone sees slight rise in customer base to mid-2014, doubles data allowance for RBI customers; Spark Mobile introduces CA technology to its LTE network; Vodafone launches LTE using the 700MHz band; 2013 Census showing continuing shift from landline telephone to mobile; Vodafone readies for international LTE roaming; 2degrees launches LTE in Auckland; Vodafone's LTE base passes 500,000; 2degrees appoints new CEO; telcos' financial and operating results for H12015; regulator's market update; recent market developments.
