Master s scholarships at LSE Scholarships for MSc study at LSE are awarded annually to University of London International Programmes students who have completed an undergraduate degree directed by LSE, and have also been accepted for postgraduate study at LSE. The scholarships are awarded on academic performance. Transferring to a UK university After your first year of study, you may be able to transfer to the second year of a similar degree as an on-campus student at one of the Colleges of the University of London or another university in the UK. A number of students from India have been accepted to LSE in their second year. However, there is a great deal of competition, so you will need to achieve good marks. You should contact the admissions department of your desired university for more information. Kanika Khurana BSc (Hons) Economics (2011) At Morgan Stanley, the first thing my boss appreciated was my University of London degree. I worked with the Senior Business Management team in the UK and I can confidently say that my degree set a firm ground for me. It instilled in me the constant need to think, question and analyse. After graduating, Kanika was selected for an internship in London at financial services firm Morgan Stanley. She was then offered a job in the Mumbai office. The University of London has a Teaching Institutions Recognition Framework (TIRF) to recognise teaching institutions that offer study support to our students. There are two categories of recognition, Affiliate and Registered, of which Affiliate is the higher level of recognition. Entry requirements and how to apply The application deadline for undergraduate and Diploma for Graduate programmes is 1 October. You should apply online through the webpage of your chosen programme: courses If you intend to study at a local institution, you should contact them for advice before submitting an application. Undergraduate entry requirements The following qualifications meet our general entrance requirements for BSc degrees: Year XII All India Boards (CBSE or CISCE or NIOS): Four acceptable academic subjects each passed at 70% or above OR an overall average of 70% from all subjects taken at Year XII. For more information and programme-specific entry criteria (e.g. maths) visit the requirements tab on the programme pages: courses There are many other qualifications, including Year 12 State Board criteria, that may be accepted for entry. These qualifications must be studied at specific teaching institutions, please visit the relevant course page for more information: courses Diploma in Economics and Diploma in Social Sciences: Successful completion of these diplomas will give you entry to the second year of LSE-led degrees. International Foundation Programme: The application deadline for the IFP is 15 September each year. Successful completion of the IFP gives guaranteed entry to the first year of undergraduate degrees offered by the University of London International Programmes. It will also make you eligible to apply to many other universities worldwide. Fast-track routes You may be able to complete your undergraduate degree in only two years if you already hold an acceptable undergraduate degree, or have previous undergraduate level studies in a related discipline. Diplomas for Graduates These are perfect if you already have a degree, but want a qualification in another field. They are also a great basis to progress to postgraduate study, particularly if your first degree is not readily acceptable as equivalent to a good UK Honours degree. Postgraduate programmes You generally need to hold a Bachelor s degree with First Class Honours from an accredited Indian university, or another degree which is considered at least comparable to a UK second class honours degree. Further information, including specific entry requirements, application deadlines and how to apply online, can be found on the programme web pages: courses English language To be accepted on any of our programmes, you must meet our English language requirements; these are listed on the programme web pages: courses Graduating from the University of London The award you receive When you graduate, you are awarded a University of London degree, diploma or certificate. The final parchment includes the University of London logo and signature of the Vice- Chancellor, and indicates which University of London College conducted your examinations. Graduation ceremonies in London and India You may attend the University of London International Programmes graduation ceremony in London. This is held in March and presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, or Chancellor, HRH The Princess Royal. You also have the option of attending graduation ceremonies held at institutions in India. Alumni Association On graduation, you become a member of the University of London International Programmes Alumni Association, which has over 100,000 members worldwide.
