ARTICULATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN ASHLAND UNIVERSITY AND OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY MANSFIELD CAMPUS It is agreed that Ashland University and Ohio State University Mansfield Campus desire to have a strong academic articulation agreement to enhance the transfer opportunities for students from Ohio State University Mansfield Campus to Ashland University s Dwight Schar College of Nursing and Sciences for the completion of a Bachelor s degree in nursing. Moreover, it is agreed that a specific academic program articulation agreement is to be followed by the development of a specific nursing program advising sheet as appropriate. ACADEMIC ARTICULATION AGREEMENT: 1. A student who completes designated core coursework with a minimum of a 3.0/4.0 GPA will be accepted at Ashland University Dwight Schar College of Nursing and Sciences nursing program with junior status, provided he/she has successfully completed a minimum of fifty (50) semester hours of coursework. Ashland University will guarantee 12 seats in the Traditional Transfer program and 8 seats in the Advanced Entry program per summer term. 2. Students have the option of choosing between two programs of nursing: The Traditional Transfer program or the Advanced Entry program. Admission Requirements for these two programs can be found in Ashland University s catalog. 3. Only earned credits are transferable and recorded on an Ashland University transcript. Letter grades and cumulative grade point average do not transfer. 4. Ohio State University Mansfield Campus students may transfer unlimited hours to Ashland University; however, students must meet the following residency requirements for a Bachelor s degree: a. At least fifty (50) semester hours of credit must be earned at a four-year accredited, degree-granting college or university. b. At least 30 semester hours of credit must be completed through Ashland University. c. The student agrees to complete 63 nursing credits through Ashland University. Non-nursing required coursework may be transferred into Ashland University. d. Students entering with 30-59 transferrable hours must take at least two Core liberal arts courses (Aesthetics, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Historical Reasoning categories) at Ashland and students entering with 60 transferrable hours are required to take at least one Core liberal arts course, even if all Core requirements have been met through courses taken at another institution 5. Admission to Ashland University with junior standing will be able to complete his/her baccalaureate degree with two years of full-time study pending satisfactory academic standing within the nursing program. Some students may be able to graduate in less than

two years if they are willing to continue their studies during Ashland University s summer terms. 6. In general, remedial, developmental, and/or orientation courses are not transferable to Ashland University and do not meet graduation requirements. Usually, courses numbered 1000 and above are transferable as either course-specific or general-elective credit. Courses which do not match up with any Ashland University catalog course will transfer as general-elective credit. 7. Students transferring to Ashland University must complete all of Ashland University s Institutional Baccalaureate Degree Requirements through transfer credit and Ashland University credit where applicable. Credit awarded from other institutions must be evaluated by Ashland University. 8. Ohio State University students with credits earned at one or more other institutions may transfer those credits to Ashland University subject to Ashland University s normal transfer policy. 9. Students must earn a grade of C or better in all non-nursing major requirements. Grades of C- or better are accepted for university core course requirements. 10. Ashland University offers pre-transfer academic advising in order to ensure that the Ohio State University Mansfield Campus student is enrolled in the proper coursework for progression in the Ashland University nursing program. The official evaluation of transfer credits takes place during the student s first semester at Ashland University. 11. Students wishing to transfer to Ashland University may be eligible for federal, state, and institutional financial aid. Qualified students with the appropriate grade point average and appropriate semester hours of credit may be eligible to receive the Ashland University Transfer Scholarship. This will be based on all grades earned from all schools attended. The Transfer Scholarship is only available to full-time students attending classes. 12. Ohio State University Mansfield Campus and Ashland University agree to participate in regular review of program requirements and appropriate advising procedures and make adjustments or amendments as deemed appropriate to maintain the integrity of each institution as well as to improve the transfer process. Such changes will not adversely affect students already enrolled and covered under the provisions of the existing agreement.
