Leuphana University of Lüneburg International Office Infmation Package Leuphana Bachel Maj in Business Administration Focal Area of Study Students with a maj in Business Administration choose a focal area of study (FA). The following focal areas will be offered: - Controlling - Banking and Finance - Marketing - Human Resource Management & Organisation - Accounting & Taxation - Logistics - International Management Students must complete four modules in their focal area. Within the focus area of International Management, modules will be held in English only. In the sixth semester, students must take an optional mandaty module while writing their bachel s thesis. This module implies either to choose a focal area study that has not be chosen befe to complete an internship (cf. Praxis Study Periods ). If applied f with the person in charge of this study programme, the integration modules I II (Ma-BWL-2 and/ Ma-BWL-26) can be replaced with one focus module each from the field of economics, business law, business infmation systems any focal area. It is ensured that students taking the maj in Business Administration can take one course each in Economics and Law in the Complementary Studies programme. A voluntary preparaty course is offered each semester to help students fulfil the entrance requirements f the External Accounting module (Ma-BWL-3). Students must prove fulfilment of said requirements by submitting ungraded coursewk during the module. During their studies, students can achieve a total of 60 additional from all subjects offered within the scope of the Leuphana Bachel s programme. Upon registration, students must indicate whether the relevant module shall be credited as a mandaty module as an additional optional course. When assigning the places available on a seminar, priity must be given to those students who have enrolled in the relevant maj min programme. Praxis Study Periods In the sixth semester, students have the alternative to either attend a course in a focus area of study to complete a supervised internship equivalent to a praxis period of four weeks. Students are recommended to complement the praxis period by taking two modules from the Project and Praxis perspective of the Complementary Studies programme to complete a supervised internship covering a period of up to 10 weeks. Determination of Academic Degree Bachel of Arts Additional The written preparaty test serves to examine whether students fulfil the requirements specified f a specific module; no marks are awarded on the test paper.
