NQF Agent Programme INTEC Programme Career Programme Career Booster Career Starter Job Creator Self Enrichment 3 Programme Types offered at INTEC College National Qualifications are credit-bearing qualifications registered on the NQF (National Qualifications Framework) and accredited by a Quality Assurance Body, such as a SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority). A skills programme is an accredited component of a national qualification. Agent Programmes are programmes for which INTEC offers tuition, but where INTEC does not issue the final certificate. The Agent body issues the final certificate and manages the final examinations. INTEC Programmes are INTEC s own programmes that are not linked to the NQF and are not credit-bearing. This course will facilitate an understanding of vehicle components and provide the basic skills in Motor Vehicle Technology. Programme Type The INTEC Introduction to Motor Vehicle Technology Certificate is part of the INTEC Career Starter Series. The INTEC Introduction to Motor Vehicle Technology Certificate is an INTEC certificate. All assignments must be successfully passed in order to obtain the award. Endorsement This course is endorsed by the Design Technology and Management Society International (DTMSI). Certificate: Motor Cycle Repair Qualification: CertMotCycRep (INTEC) NQF 4 SAQA ID: 21110 NQF Level 4 Credits: 120 The programme provides comprehensive skills and a competency base enabling the effective maintenance and repairs of motor cycles as well as three and four wheelers. Knowledge and skills include twostroke engine repairs, handling of clutches as well as transmission and suspension repairs. Knowledge is furthermore gained in drive systems, cable service, valves, cylinders, carburetion, wheel and brake maintenance and repairs as well as lubrication, electrical systems and a range of chargers. Attention is also given to the relevant skills and competencies required for motor cycle painting and customising. Grade 10 (Std. 8) or equivalent, or verifiable and relevant working experience (2 years) preferably in a suitable technical environment. You should be able to complete this course within 18 months. Certificate: Small Petrol Engine Repair Qualification: CertPetrEngRep (INTEC) NQF 4 SAQA ID: 21112 NQF Level 4 Credits: 120 Small Petrol Engine Repairing is a vocational occupation that involves the maintenance and repair of various engines including low-power internal combustion engines, as well as petrol and electric engines. The Certificate: Small Petrol Engine Repair will enable you to repair chain saws, string trimmers, leaf blowers, snow blowers, lawnmowers, wood chippers, outboard motors, motorcycles and more. The programme supports the gaining of knowledge, techniques and practise that you will need to conduct fault finding, troubleshooting and maintenance and repairs relating to, amongst others, ignition, fuel, cooling and drive systems. The programme equips you with the relevant knowledge relating to the practical fundamentals of diesel mechanics including the use of relevant tools, materials and equipment, knowledge of the functioning of diesel engines, lubrication systems, cooling, air-intake and exhausts as well as the electrical systems relevant to the diesel engine. The Diploma: Diesel Mechanic enables skills and competencies applicable to diesel engine operation, including the identification of faults, maintenance and repair requirements for various components of the diesel engine system, as well as in-frame overhauling.
