Our Top 10-ranked intellectual property and health law programs, as well as our leading tax courses, ensure our graduates master the key components of these complex practice areas and arrive ready to contribute. Our multi-year writing course, which includes many advanced electives, such as International Business Agreements, Negotiating, Structuring & Drafting, and the Judicial Writing Seminar, hones students writing skills so they are concise, insightful, and their written work is on point for you and for your clients. 4 BU Law s numerous clinics and externships provide practical exposure to a variety of professional settings, including law firms, businesses, government agencies, courts, and nonprofits. Our Semester-in-Practice program offers students a unique immersive experience working full-time outside Boston at designated legal employers. BU Law s one-of-a-kind Lawyering Lab, a mandatory one-week course, gives all 1Ls an intensive introduction to realworld lawyering skills such as client counseling, negotiation, legal analysis, and agreement drafting. Our mandatory Business Fundamentals online course means all our students even those without prior business background graduate with basic foundations in fundamental business concepts such as capital markets, financial accounting, and corporate finance. Our students sharpen their research and oral and written presentation skills through our intramural moot court, negotiation, and client counseling competitions, and through representing BU Law at national competitions.
