Allow FlyChart to use the Prolific USB to Serial Port For more information to the next steps read http://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/mac/faq/usbtoserial. To do the following steps a OS X terminal is needed You can find the terminal by entering terminal in the spotlight search in the upper right corner of your screen: To find the device name of your flight instrument, connect the instrument to your computer, and run the following command in the terminal: ls /dev/*pl2303* --> You should see a device like cu.pl2303-0000103d in the list. To create a symbolic link for the device run the following command in the terminal window: cd ~/Library/Application\ support/crossover/<bottle name>/dosdevices ln sf /dev/<cu.device> com1 In the above example this will look as followed: cd ~/Library/Application\ support/crossover/flychart452_72/dosdevices ln sf /dev/cu.pl2303-0000103d com1 Check that there is no error reported on the console! Test Instrument communication with FlyChart After completing all above steps, FlyChart should be able to communicate with the Flight instrument: Connect Flytec instrument to USB port and bring it into the communication mode (see manual) Start CrossOver Within CrossOver start FlyChart On the Dialog License registration (or menu Extras > System settings...) enter the Pilot and Glider information and select your Flight instrument and Port COM1 (or the one you created the symbolic link in step 4) Select Download flights from the toolbar or the menu File --> the flight memory from your instrument should be downloaded and displayed in FlyChart Erstellt von Pirmin Duss 4/5 26.02.13
Known Issues with FlyChart on Mac OS X Sometimes the windows prolific driver isn t correctly installed. In this case the communication doesn t work even if the symbolic link above is correct. In this case one needs to uninstall and reinstall the prolific driver in the bottle of FlyChart. This is done by running the installer from http://www.flytec.ch/en/usb-serial-driver.html twice. In the first run select remove, in the second run select install. Since FlyChart is a Windows based software it will not actively be tested in the Mac environment by Flytec. Nevertheless Flytec will try to support FlyChart on the Mac as good as possible. So please don t hesitate to report any bugs or strange behaviors you find. Erstellt von Pirmin Duss 5/5 26.02.13
