How should I select potential mentors? Scholars should select a total of three possible mentors who have the qualifications and experience necessary to support their goals. The mentors should be individuals who can provide guidance and feedback in a manner that allows the Scholar to grow in his or her leadership capacity. It is also important that these mentors not be employed at your academic institution and have experience in being a mentor. Please email CENE@stti.org if you have any questions or concerns regarding this requirement. 2. Should I work with my direct supervisor and/or my dean in the development of my Institute application and project summary? Ideally, yes. By involving the direct supervisor and/or your dean in the development of the Institute application and project goals, he or she will gain an awareness of the time and support that will be required for successful participation in the Institute. This understanding and involvement should be reflected in the letter of support. 3. May I email or fax the application? No. All applications must be submitted via the online application system at http://stti.leadership.confex.com/stti_leadership/eeai15/cfp.cgi Page 3 of 5
